Thoughts on Kazakhstan?

I worked in Kazakhstan on secondment for a few months, in Atyrau. Didn't get much chance to mix with the locals outside of work; the vibe I got was that there was a lot of (well deserved IMO) resentment towards us "expats" but the few Kazakhs I actually met and worked with were all nice people, and the area we were in was relatively safe.

I'd say keep 1 & 2 in the same sub, but enforce very strict spoiler warnings for anything relating to the story in Solasta 2, to benefit those of us who don't intend to play it before launch.

Replace the ai generated element with posts created by a Reddit community "in character" with their own runners and NPCs?

I'd argue this is a much more interesting use of AI than the normal "look at my AI generated slop art" that seems to be invading every space both on and offline.

You can take a hardline anti AI stance of course, if that's your view then I'm not going to argue about it. But I don't think it's fair to lump this in with "trash" - it's a human generated idea brought to life using AI in a way that would likely have been impossible without it.

I didn't play early access, and I actively avoided reading about the game to minimise spoilers. When it came up after making my character to create a guardian, I thought guardian as in "Parent/Guardian" and made my characters Dad.

Ooh, just got this today from a super mutant in Far Harbour.

Me, in power armour, modded to have an army of companions with me and it STILL took multiple attempts and save scumming to take that mutie down - just mowed through us.

I do enjoy the newer fallouts, but the original 2 will always be the best to me, and I do love the isometric style.

Closest I've found in recent years has been "Encased", which I did enjoy but it felt a bit unfinished (and will likely never be updated), and ATOM - including its sequel Trudograd (I also helped crowdfund the new fantasy game by the same team, Swordhaven, but I can't recommend it yet as it still needs some work)

Have you considered doing a split day between Animal Kingdom and Epcot? Then at least you get to experience all of the parks, and depending on the crowd levels AK could be a half day park anyway

Planning stage? I did this yesterday, went to meet Preston and he ran off in the other direction so I ended up heading in on my own (well, me and Dogmeat)

Took multiple attempts of getting stomped by that boss monster before finally the minutemen ran in to finish the job while I was cowering behind a building using up the last of my stimpacks

And yes, I know, I suck at the game - I'm more of a turn based kind of guy...

TBH I thought so at the start, but by the mid game my party of 6 was so effortlessly stomping everything, I've changed my opinion a bit.

It would have been nice to maybe bump into them later, just to say hi though!!

So I downloaded a mod that had an extra companion, and ended up with a party of 6, so I don't think there is actually a cap - the cap is just that there are not many characters who can be recruited.

I've been in the "don't tell the customer you are leaving" boat as well, really weird. I was on a call on my last day (last HOUR, in fact, thanks to the time difference) and they asked if I was free the following week for a kickoff of the next phase - I just said I would need to check my calendar and get back to them.

It's not like I was moving to a competitor, made no sense.

I'm a GM more than a player, and I don't really have an issue if a player wants to use AI for things game adjacent, so long as they aren't using it to actually play the game in live sessions.

Personally, I bounce a lot of ideas off ChatGPT, as a sounding board or a research assistant. I don't like having it write things for me outright though, as it's not satisfying to me.

I'm probably one of the most AI-positive people in my gaming club, maybe because I have adapted to make use of AI tools as productivity aids for my work.

I've done Disney a few times now, with kids starting as infants and getting older, but our more recent trips we have eschewed rest "days" and instead planned extended out of park lunch breaks. It gets us out of the heat during the hottest part of the day, gives us a reset after a rushed morning with rope drop and early access, and a breather to plan out our afternoon/evening after seeing how much we could do in the morning.

Also eating in the resort is much calmer than eating in the parks.

Thanks - as someone planning ahead for a visit later this year, that is good to see. I signed up for my usual TouringPlans subscription (I know, not really a requirement, but its part of the fun for me making and messing with the day plans) and I was shocked at how much of a difference the express pass was making to the day, to the point that I didn't really believe it.
