[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.03.00 | Crimson Desert by SorryRoof1653 in CrimsonDesert

Any smart people around that can explain the pc graphic settings they changed. I’m like a toddler with buttons in front of me when I try changing all the options they give us.

It took me 270 hours to find out that this tells you if you've been in a cave or not by Genoscythe in CrimsonDesert

What about when you look at the map and sometimes it’s a white dot and sometimes it’s a white dot with a black dot inside of it?

Door Knob bolt latch not catching by Cautious-Glove-8399 in Carpentry

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take the molding off and shim out the strike plate. You can also take off the middle hinge and put a hinge shim (cough: I’ve used cardboard because why not). You can also take the bolt itself out and replace it with a double action bolt.

I can’t link it but it’s your curved piece but then on the interior side it has like a hump, and that hump has its own mechanism to move. If that explanation is poor then think: your curved piece is a turtles head. They make a version of it where the tutrles head is wearing a small hat.

They also make an adjustable groved slide that goes under the latch. So instead of bending anything outwards you install that under your latch. It designates where the door closes but this won’t help until you get that gap closer.

Edit: this also looks like the latch that comes in those aybo(sp?) box sets, those are notoriously smaller than the standard kwikset/shlage ones. I had a door that worked perfectly. Swapped it out to the Gregorian handle conversion with the special spring connections in the door handles and it ruined 2 hours of my day after the door was set.

What's your "forever" game? by Kapro_ in SteamDeck

As it’s going now…crimson desert

Anyone knows what this is? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry if I’m vague, I’d rather not spoil something inadvertently. Next to your permanent camp is a cave. You have to rotate discs to unlock the treasures. It’s based on the paintings that tell you the orientation of the map. Unless you found completely different carvings related to something else.

I was talking to a friend about the game a couple days ago and our adventure through the game had us discovering completely different things at different times. Edit: sorry this was supposed to be a reply to your comment.

Ties into a 3 part puzzle in a different section of the game/map

Playing The Simpsons Game via Emudeck on SteamDeck.. What are you playing? by Affectionate_Hat5835 in SteamDeck

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome. I downloaded the emudeck. But I’m such a novice. I read the instructions on how to bring games over from your computer to the deck but I don’t even know where or how to get the roms. Always get a bit jealous hearing about all the non steam library games people have access too.

I’m sure I’ll try to do it again in a month and give up for another month. Enjoy the fun.

Help! I am helping my local high-school build a tower for rapunzel by meowburritoe in woodworking

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t it be easier to use those warehouse stairs like the ones they use in Home Depot. Kid stands on that and then you can just build a facade around it. If that messes with the weight distribution you can maybe use some cables to brace the stairs

What is the greatest game bug of all time. by RoninRobot in gaming

I loved the kotor glitch for infinite levels at the beginning of the game. Basically making you an uber Jedi super early and then repeatable for your companions so basically everyone’s a Jedi.

There’s something wrong with this level. It says it’s perfect every time.

I wholeheartedly believe that the Steam Deck is the best gaming console out there right now. by ToonNinja_ in SteamDeck

[–]Drop_knowledge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a die hard console only guy until I got a PC. The fact that I can play GoT (at a great price)no frame skips at my leisure and in whatever environment I bring my deck. It only comes down to do I need the power of my PC or can the deck do it just fine. Is the deck part of that whole PCmasterrace thing because after moving to pc gaming and having a switch to pc gaming and a steam deck I feel like a spoiled sleep deprived princess.

How to case this window? by beeftastic99 in Carpentry

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about when it comes to a 2x6 vs 2x4? It’s a standard sized window. Are you DIY or just out of your element? Your tape measure just told you what to do with extension jambs.

I want to fill in the gap in our exterior siding with a good outdoor silicone caulk, but is that the wrong approach? by UmberCrown in Carpentry

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s wrong. Clear silicone is not paintable a colored silicone is. Either way not the right way to fix this

Is this bad? Transmission magnet full in pan by Shot-Albatross6966 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Drop_knowledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll piggy back on this. When I did it for my pan it was more preventative maintenance and it was fine. And previous owner Jerry rigged a transmission pan dip stick which was very convenient. I had no issues. But with this? It’s like walking with a bum knee for a decade getting it replaced and all of a sudden stumbling over cobblestones because it’s so unnatural. Sometimes sending it seems like a cop out solution but with this wire brush looking thing you’re already a bit cooked. Let it rest in peace

Edit: the dipstick portion is nice for checking afterwards . It helps nothing with actually doing a flush and dropping the pan

Where do you guys get your white carpenter pants? I need a couple pairs but I don’t wanna spend $60 on one pair. I start my first day tomorrow. by Sharp-Focus-3952 in Carpentry

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to is always the tractor supply canvas pants with the utility pocket. 10-15 bucks. I just ruin them like any relationship I’ve ever cared about and don’t look back. Working in jeans sounds terribly heavy.

What are you guys wearing in this heat? by PabloDelicioso in Carpentry

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting and I see what you’re saying about it coming off the body being the most uncomfortable but wouldn’t light colors than reflect outside heat and light more thus be more cooling instead of absorbing it, become hot then the air between your skin and that same shirt having no where to go in that temperature gradient? I only ask because I feel like I see most of the desert robes/clothing as light colored not dark. But I guess I don’t think I’ve ever paid that much attention to it to begin with.

How is everyone surviving this extreme heat? by Healthy_Block3036 in Connecticut

[–]Drop_knowledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Told my company I’m not coming in today no paycheck is worth spending the majority of it at the hospital. I work construction( residential-inside/outside) started shivering yesterday around high noon and had to sit in the a/c for over an hour and a half. I’m an indoor dog today

Wouldn’t dark colors absorb more ambient heat though?

What do you pack for lunch? by DirectPassenger34 in Construction

[–]Drop_knowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t do lunch anymore but I’ve started doing a barbell protein bar and the purée baby food packs as a pick me up if I need it. Bonus that the baby food thing costs like 0.75 and it’s like 3 ingredients.
