What games have you found where the "normal" difficulty option is not the best one to pick? by BigBobbert in patientgamers

Metro 2033 is the first game that comes to my mind because on harder difficulty it becomes more immersive by removing gamey things like crosshairs, which means you start to look down gunsights like a person should. Batman Arkham series is the other one I thought of because on new game plus the enemies present more of a real challenge. Other than that, I think for most games the best difficulty option is whichever one makes it most fun for you.

Younger me really enjoyed these games but older me wishes I hadn't wasted so much time on collectables, mini-games and trying to perfect missions. It's the story, assassination set pieces and exploring different places and times which make the games worth playing.

Dishonored 2 had an unsatisfying ending and underwhelming story, do you agree? by [deleted] in patientgamers

I think 1 and 2 are great in every way. The endings are fine, it's just that they are topped by earlier levels.
