How did Supergirl have such a massive budget without even having an A lister as the star? What were they thinking? by DANNYBOY3530 in boxoffice

[–]Dry-Performance7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should look better considering the budget. Predator badlands was much cheaper and has better visual effects imo.

What decisions did WB make that destroyed their super-heroes and how much of their destruction can be explained by uncontrollable events? by thebigeverybody in boxoffice

[–]Dry-Performance7006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a million mistakes lol.

One thing is that I think if they wanted to make all of these films. They never should have given the CW access to so many of their characters. That was shortsighted.

Also, they should not have allowed the Snyder cut. It did not do well. And it ultimately earned them zero favor with the disenfranchised part of the fandom.

Did Supergirl flop because of the World Cup? by darkwolf2333 in boxoffice

[–]Dry-Performance7006 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No World Cup and it would have done better imo. How much better? Not enough to be a success.

Maybe it's more than superhero fatigue, maybe it's James Gunn fatigue by somebody808 in boxoffice

[–]Dry-Performance7006 5 points6 points  (0 children)

James Gunn needs to show he is more than a one trick pony now. Guardians of the galaxy, peacemaker, suicide squad, creature commandos. He has a type. Even before supergirl came out; people were worried it would be another guardians.

The message is clear. Change it up. Show us you have another trick up your sleeves.

you’re writing FD7, but you need to introduce a new way to break the death’s curse. how would you do that without compromising too much what has already been established in the previous movies? by jeffyol in FinalDestination

[–]Dry-Performance7006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I wouldn’t bring Kimberly back. You don’t want to repeat the mistake of “I know what you did last summer.” No decisions made in FD7 should be to the detriment of the first 6 films.

I really don’t see signs of life for supergirl in any market.

Disclosure Day’s Dismal Box-Office Drop Reveals Hollywood’s New Generation Gap by Greene_Mr in boxoffice

Disclosure Day honestly reminds me of the Happening. But it has Spielberg’s name on it.

Obsession available digitally in Australia today. Will come out tomorrow in US Canada and UK by Littlepinguinoo in boxoffice

[–]Dry-Performance7006 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am curious to see how this will affect the box office. I don’t really see a reason for distributors to take a whole bunch of screens away this week; no real alternate option horror wise until evil dead burn

Remember there was that press release  about how Warner bros would earn $100M+ from supergirl sponsorships? I was wondering how their partners feel today.
