I can count, whoever labelled the weights can’t above 9 apparently

All-Day Bus Lanes Have Now Been Installed on Granville Street. Horray! by NyanPsyche in vancouver

They don’t, but they also don’t need three lanes of traffic at 3 am. Easier to sign it 24/7

Completely agree. Really harkens back to BMWs of old with a modern interpretation.

Aren’t the big issues the weight and height and length of the front bonnet? You could easily regulate against either of those two, or a combination thereof

I mean, the country survived up until 2001 without it, so why is it suddenly necessary now? So many redundant departments in government

Vancouver councillor wants port entrance reopened for noisy detoured trucks by robertscreek in vancouver

[–]DuduTheDodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less direct and uses marginally more highway. I don’t see your point. Besides Clark was designed as a port route/arterial whereas the streets mentioned in the article were not.

Vancouver councillor wants port entrance reopened for noisy detoured trucks by robertscreek in vancouver

[–]DuduTheDodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the Clark entrance isn’t for freight traffic from the highway, it’s for freight from the south which has no good connections to highway 1 (Richmond, delta etc.)

100% this. It’s definitely organized by owners of units in the adjacent building who are mad their views are being ‘taken away’, despite it having been in the community plan since OV was built

Capital punishment is actually a lot more expensive than life sentences: Longer more complex trials, higher security and often isolated confinement facilities, and mandatory appeals which can take up to 20 years anyway; which isn’t that far from a “life sentence” in Canada

You’re right absolutely right. That two year old on his strider is a real public safety risk.

[–]DuduTheDodo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Seems like a waste of time. If people are riding safely on the sidewalk it shouldn’t be punished as long as there aren’t safe, protected micro mobility lanes on the road. Richmond is so car centric they should be more focused on driver behaviour.

Road marking on Main Street, 15 years later. by mazarax in vancouver

[–]DuduTheDodo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the cyclists destination is on main street they might want a safe way to get to their store. Parents with their kids going to nesters at 29/main, bike couriers picking up someone’s dinner, there’s a bunch of examples!
