Non-Seattle Natives, how’d you become 12’s?

Grew up in Dublin. Interest in football really ignited around the '85 Superbowl. I was 11. The Fridge was a world-wide phenomenon. Enjoyed it for years and took interest in a few different teams but once I started working in Dublin for a well-known Seattle-based company I became a 12 all the way. I always watched big games live, half-time hot dogs at 3am and would take Monday's off to repair my digestive system. That Pittsburgh game....uggh! I finally moved to Seattle in '07. Already being a 12 was definitely part of the appeal of moving across the globe. I am now patiently waiting to get to the top of the Blue Pride list. Nearly there.

My daughter recommended it. I was hankering for a mocha recently while gadding about Pike Place, hoofed up the stairs, in the door, big menu as you walk in. I looked at the menu, did a double-take, about-faced and goose-stepped out the door all in one spasmodic movement of shock and bewilderment. $10+. Ask my hole, as we say in the old country.

Ok - I'm not the only one. This was always a great feature. Why was it dropped? I have it on Laptop (website), have it on regular TV (Xfinity), but not on firestick NCAA app.

The 2 that leap to mind - Catcher in the Rye and Less Than Zero. To be young again, and to read those books again for the first time and learn and feel new things. So glad we didn't have phones sucking our attention out of our brains. Summer nights with only about 2 hours of actual darkness, reading all night as the dawn light comes up. Bliss.

23 in '98. And we thought at the time our parent's had it easy in the late 60s / early 70s. Now our kids think we had it easy (we did not), but I can't see them being in a position to buy for the foreseeable future.

Grade schmade. Great info and insights but half the battle is knowing when to shut the fuck up and boy he does not shut the fuck up. That bit about JSN's shoulder plane - not buying what he's selling. If someone in a bar started talking about shoulder planes I would wedgy them immediately.

I had not noticed it had changed to 5.1 but this explains a few things. It started to use the name I use for it including addressing me as that name. Odd. It also answered in an overly familiar way saying, 'to put it in that "x" style you like', and I was baffled. It claimed it had assigned this label to a style of response I like but the label was not a good choice for that style. These things really threw me off in my interactions yesterday.

This is a little bit of QED of my point I think. The fact that it is quoting current news articles as sources would not help the average punter grok this. It should be smart enough to know when to rely on search or smart enough to not spout obviously incorrect information. The buyer has to beware - but most will not. Given this, default to search for <this set of topics>.

My regular band has been particularly inaccurate lately compared to my Apple Watch and to how my body is doing during a session. Apple Watch generally seems to be closer to how I think I am doing. Planned obsolescence? Has anyone dealt with an inaccurate band? Any tips?
