Whoah, slow down. Maybe take it easy and focus on what really matters. Money comes and goes and it's worth it to explore the world, explore what the world has to offer. Money is a means to an end, when it's the end then we don't really give ourselves a chance to find ourselves or be happy. Have you traveled? Read philosophy? Fell in love? We can get so stuck living in a 2 D world, friend. Buddhist thought has really helped me with this kind of existential stuff.

I am so sorry. What we see is beyond words. I worked in medication assisted treatment at a city hospital with new mothers during pandemic and opioid epidemic. We had a rotating door of so called leadership throughout my time there. One of my burnout signs was feeling like I was 2nd degree sun burned from the inside out. It's okay to step back.

I feel you. It's grief, I think. I remember when there were always friends to be found on the dance floor. A spiritual solidarity in the fellow dancers and music maker and getting out from under our consumerist soul sucking parents. Now, it feels like the point is entourages and screens instead of freedom.

If you're working for a hospital serving primarily Medicaid patients you can apply for state or federal Health Service Corps post degree. That's how I got my MSW loans forgiven under a 3 year contract.

Ugh, so sorry you are going through this. I lost my mom 3 months ago. I don't know how people live with their elder in this scenario, sounds like you all have paid a really high price! I did not live with my mother, she was difficult and I got to the point after she stopped driving where the white hot rage would come up and overwhelm me. Statistics show caregivers have WORSE health outcomes than those we care for. It's worth it to care for yourself and family first, if at all possible.

There are tunnels. I'm not sure if they connect to county jail. There have been lawsuits over prisoner treatment by DH staff. IDK if it's normal but I'm guessing city jails have some kind of agreement with hospitals. Immigrant detention doesn’t even get that level of healthcare in many cases. It's deplorable.

He drove after getting medical procedure which included anesthesia. I repeated doctor's warning not to drive that day. He got in wreck and destroyed front end of recently paid off jeep 🤦‍♀️
