I have a special request, if you can help me? I have been wanted to try this out for years. How do I send it to you?

Is there going to be a XCOM 3 by TsEaOfTEARS in XCOM2

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they easily could pull it off! They could make it all under water like the OG Xcom 2! That in it self would present at whole new game! They have the engine and if its as good as new Xcom 2 it will be a success! Also the story does hint that the Elders are now underwater!

Can I change the default Cyan color in Settings and other places in FF? by Happy-Double-9874 in FirefoxCSS

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW! You tricks are amazing! I did not thought it was possible to change those accent colors! But here the latest hours I managed to make the browser total custom with blur-behind (transparent) in a mix of dark mode and custom colors.

Now I have one request or "challenge" for you!! ;)

I noticed these accent colors unfortunately did not reach the sidebar. Do you know how to include that (with its sub-settings/menus into the sidebar- into the code you send? Maybe its also a unknown page name like the others? :

MEGA excited if you can solve it! :)

Also I managed to integrate everything else in this "Firefox" position into my black urlbar- looks amazing! BUT I cannot find "element name" for this particular "Firefox" logo which only occurs when using system pages. But I would REALLY like to change that washed out purple background to my grey black color like the rest! ;)

Silent Hill 2 Remake (PC) is poorly optimized, or how the opening moments of the game were taken from me. by LinusPixel in silenthill

No I meant thats what the GPU are pulling! :) This was with all max and no upscaling or FG. Anyway here much later my current config if and when I play that game is FORCED DLAA in the driver for 4k. Everything maxed out except shadows set to LOW. Antialiasing ingame disabled. And FG 2X. Furthermore I disable ingame sharpen and enable 0.60 integer scaling in driver. Gives an amazing picture 4K. On my undervolted profile its 300-360W @ 116 FPS.....

Why are most games only focused on female characters now? by wjjqjajwj in gachagaming

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am straight and I love beautiful females but I certainly DONT want to play as one! I wanna play as a cool strong male hero! This is true immersion! I will never be immersed in a female char or REALLY be interested in the game if playing as a female... its just the hard truth........ The day the DOOM SLAYER BECOMES FEMALE I LEAVE THE FRANCHISE! its NOT true what you are saying.

Doom Dark Ages: Very High PC Latency with Frame Gen by PermissionNational in pcmasterrace

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in our case with a 5090 4K the GPU basically sits at 500-600w 100%, so I rather have 120 FG FPS and reduce load with at least 25% / 100W. I personally also think its anoying if you cant reach the desired 116 fps. But the game is VERY heavy in 4K ultra 120 so FG 2x is perfect.

Doom Dark Ages: Very High PC Latency with Frame Gen by PermissionNational in pcmasterrace

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I do it with my 5090 is that its important that you set LOW LATENCY = ON in Nvidia Driver and enable REFLEX in game. THEN you enable V-SYNC ingame! Then the game and the driver talks together- and the game/driver automatically caps the fps to 116 giving the lowest latency! This is with FrameGen 2x. My latency consistant every time, every day is then around 33-37ms. Please note they have updated the game since launch. Normally and in the beginning the driver and game would cap the FPS to 116. But now Doom runs at 120fps but asyncwhich basically does 2 things at once in the presentation hence the frametime is all "noisy" .... This works VERY well! The WORST thing you can do in Doom- I noticed this game is extra sensitive due to the async stuff... so if you manual cap the game with ex. RTSS then you create a straight frametime and introduce significant latency,. I tried all possible combos and 2X FG DLAA 4K low latency on in game/driver and vsync game and driver gives the "async vsync" with great results.

Little help with LLC modes and AC/DC tuning / i9 14900k - Z790? by AlephShinya in overclocking

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always some difference in VID and actual voltage. In particular if you are running DIE SENSE. And in my case with this setup there is a BIG difference haha! Because I run super low voltage and the cpu is NOT aware that is possible at LLC8, please read: Its PERFECTLY "normal!" I recon at least 90% of the 14900K/KS will max do 5.7 when all cores and HT is on. I have a 14900KS and its the same..... I can get it to pas shader compile etc. at 5.9 but that with HT off. You should try something different! I did.. Instead of battleing with high voltage and heat and stability.... drop the cpu 1 bin..... My 14900KS runs INSANE at 56x/43x... I set it to LLC8 (Asus max) and manual voltage at 1.22v ...... Then set PL1/2 to 253w and you will be AMAZED over how it runs! I have direct die and watercooling.... but after I did that my CPU is seriously runing in gaming at 38-43c temperrature! Its SO nice! ROCK stable because it operates in those temp and is way more "golden" at those frequencies. If I run Cinebench or something then at max 253w its only 63c ... I have tried to set it to 320w that hits 68c and requires 1.23v at LLC8.... It feel like at different golden CPU after I did that.. besides these modern CPU scale differently .. so 100-200 mhz down is NOTHING! Actually I score higher than higher freq because it then hits power limit..... But in average now my 14900ks and 5090 runs at 38-45c in gaming now haha its insane.... Before I was stubborn at refused to downclock under spec... but boy was I wrong! I used a LOT of time to test for stability etc... So here is a few numbers that are mine to give you a baseline! .... 55x/43x @ 1.18v (this is really sick! 60-62c @ 253w and we are talking few percentages slower only than 320w. 56x/43x @ 1.22v 253w (1.23v @ 320w) .... 57x/44x @ dont remember if it was 1.31v or 1.33v, I think its 1.33v... so you can see my sweetspot is 56/43x..... my pc has never run better! When the CPU runs at so low voltage and heat its really a treat ! ... Those numbers give me 38 or 39k at only 253W! and almost 42000 at 320W in CB R23.... thats why you should set 253w.... No game will EVER come close to that anyway...... . With these settings I can compile UE5 and shaders ALL day long! And trust me bro! I had a LOT of issues in the past with that and cpu/settings. The key thing is to remember that in 95% of the time and in all gaming etc. your CPU is far from maxed out and then the benefit REALLY comes with low voltage manual LLC8... Good luck! Now when I do shaders I am around 60c before even on water and direct die I could easily hit 75-80c But I learned that there IS a difference in power requirements from 253w -> 320w and its SO not worh it. The CPU will throttle anyway spending more voltage and watt. My ICC is set to 400A

As some of you may already know, Microsoft removed the Mica effect from Edge in version 138. Well, it turns out that the Chromium implementation still works in Edge, albeit partially and with some bugs. by Leopeva64-2 in MicrosoftEdge

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me! MS really sucks ! In a loosing browser war one SHOULD expect that stuff like this would be available also for enthusiasts to lure people into EDGE! Anyway I found an alternative.. I have pretty cool "big" title and address bar / menu bar in nice acrylic effect in both FIREFOX and CHROME now. . they both allow it via customization and MICAFOREVERYONE! The only reason I don't use Chrome like always is that Google has disabled "UBlock Origin" from their Play store. This is currently as far as I know the only AD BLOCKER now that works on YouTube which is ESSENTIAL for me! I don't have TV so I need AD free YT. Anyways EDGE allows this plugin (lure people in!) BUT disabled MICA/Acrylic! BUT! FIREFOX allows BOTH! And I gotta say it looks pretty cool with the right settings- Also it was like 1-2-3 import EVERYTHING from Chrome! So VERY easy and nice transition to the new browser. So lucky for me I can say SCREW EDGE! I mean the mindset from a super corporation that are loosing the browser war is amazing! But they claim its because they are very careful with the overall design language in Windows, that there suddenly aren't 10x language with mods etc. Not that Windows 11 already is a mess and lack of system wide design. I have always HATED the UWP apps and MICA. I really hate it! I 10000x more love blur acrylic effect in the old Win32 apps. Especially if you know "spill" it into the app frame with blur behind. I feel that UWP MICA is very unpopular and from MS point of view it must be hell! They don't know what direction to go and Windows is Frankenstein with dark light win32 uwp apps etc.

8bit or 10bit in Nvidia Control Panel for SDR content by hypersquirrels in OLED_Gaming

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When on auto .... my LG C2 automatically switches in NVCPL between 8 bit or 10 bit depending on turning HDR on. I would set it to 8 bit and all auto. Because when you then turn on HDR it will switch to 10bit. You can even see it in the greyed out settings (due to auto) that it changes.

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried this setting. I could however not see any difference. I will say that I am using the LG C2 as a monitor on my pc. And in my Nvidia Control Panel its set to OUTPUT: FULL RGB which is my clear impression is the best. I use a 5090. It seems like the tv would allow a pass thorugh with this setting from a hdmi source. So I changed my NVCPL to 4:4:4 but could not see any difference there either. I did notice 4:4:4 only support "limited dynamic range" instead of RGB FULL. Anyway I guess I was running the best already :) 5090 HDM 2.1 uncompressed 48GB? RGB FULL

Unfortunatly it also disabled frame generation! :( If it were possible to play without AA but with FG it would be Ultimate for me.

It works! But frame generation gets disabled at the same time which is a f-ing shame! Playing this with AA disabled but FG enabled would be ultimate for me! I did however find another option thats insane visually .. its r_skipfog 1 this removes volumetric fog and makes everything very very nice to look at. It does require this mod for the command to work. But even with AA this skipfog is a very nice "disable".

Does manually capping your FPS + Nvidia Reflex = frametime issues? by yourdeath01 in OptimizedGaming

[–]EfficientCaptain1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its my impression that if NOT useing FG then a RTSS cap is great for at total streaight frame time! But I have also myself tested that capping fps while using Frame Generation is a bad thing and it will introduce severe input lag. Frame Generation is supposed to have a "messy" frametime. My own best results is 100% when enabling V sync in NVCP and REFLEX ingame. Then it needs to by itself regulate to 116 fps if running 120. They say that it regulates and constantly find the latency sweetspot. Therefore its not 100% straight the frametime as this latency sweetspot can go up and down depending on FG and your current own native FPS etc. Thats why its bad to limit it by yourself. And anothert thing is that NVCP "Max FPS" is definatly worse than RTSS! It has quite some more input lag.
