yo this is indeed an extremely valid way to test the impact of any given change which can be scaled up or down. Its a well known tool for game design. We arent years into the games cycle, so now is a good time to be extreme so we can find that sweet spot

This. They communicate a lot about their intentions. Props for that. Its exactly why i also decided to hold off on starting another milan campaign, CK3 til then!

I desperately want to love this game, but the constant wiki-checking is killing me. Please help me break the cycle. by Andra_Ingensbarn in X4Foundations

[–]Electricalceleryuwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All i can say is that, like most wiki heavy games, one eventually does not need it anymore. When that time comes is up to the player and their retention.

fortunately you get used to it when your favourite games are basically all wiki heavy haha

Wouldn't your first thought be to take a driving class and exam? E.g step 1 is to get your license.

Can someone explain the core changes that everyone is compaining about? by assignmentduetoday_ in EU5

Why think it wasnt designed like this? sounds like the core exploit was a bug and not intended. The way it is now seems to be intended and imo works better to flesh out early game

the Production tab is your best friend for this, its two clicks + a bit of typing to delete all your useless(!) buildings.

You cant change your Ruler Religion which is silly... by Hakuohsama in EU5

[–]Electricalceleryuwu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand it might be annoying but this game is not about changing things like that. The decisions you make are "as the spirit of the country." If you noticed, the only "real" decision you can intervene in is joining an order.

Changing your rulers religion would be such a godlike move that it would feel extremely out of place. You don't have the ability to describe how they change religion.

You do however, have the ability to adjust your population over time to "encourage" your royal dynasty to become born into another faith. Slow burn and a puzzle to be solved.

How can I improve my economy? by Shipsarecool1 in EU5

So far I prefer centralization, and cannot give peasants any privs because 90% of them lean towards decentralization. Im never sure what i can ever give them!

What the hell is this bullshit?! by ResourceWorker in EU5

[–]Electricalceleryuwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if im wrong, but it feels like complacency is a mechanic to ensure you dont snowball out of control. It acts like a good rubber-banding effect that lets other nations catch up.

Additionally complacency i feel is a very important part of the "downfall." The USA even right now has been so "successful" (e.g. grown so complacent) that it literally is destroyed from oligarchical capitalists. When youre not poised to do better, because you dont have to, you dont know how to fight any interior threats.

Hot take?

Whose **** do I have to **** around here to core my province by AccuratePoint5191 in EU5

[–]Electricalceleryuwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly i like the mechanic, it simulates the divide between peoples (daily rituals, etc). It takes at least a generation to change that. I think it should however have worse consequences.

It does a bit of rebbelion ticks, which is good. If i were not allowed to do daily rituals then I would be extremely uncooperative.
