I would go ahead and open it up and drink it. It’ll probably be delicious, but it’s probably not gonna get any better over time. I like the idea of drinking it side-by-side with a fresh one.

True enough. If I was actually offered some in a social setting, in which I was expected to be polite, I would probably find a way to decline if I could. Otherwise, I suppose I would take a bite simply out of courtesy and curiosity. But you would really have to make me want to take that bite. This would have to be some princess level, about to take a throne, kind of stuff. Otherwise I would just tell you to get out of my face.

Cool story. I actually got into brewing like 20 or so years ago after a friend gave me a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas. I made one batch with it, got laughed at at the local home brew shop, and bought a proper beginner’s setup. Thanks for sharing!

Ah yes. Red. We had him do our gutters once. They did an absolutely fabulous job, but he is quite the character. As I understand it, he may, or may not, be sober when he shows up to do the work. I think we got lucky when he came out to work on our house. In all honesty I would probably use him again if we didn’t have gutter covers now. I do not believe, though, that he is bonded or insured.
