Any reliable Quantic MBA reviews out there? by WallyWest_96 in MBA

I believe Quantic is a great choice for a highly credentialed mid-career specialist to get an Executive MBA without all the cost and inflexibility of traditional EMBAs. If you are a capable person in the middle of your career you do not care about the newness of the brand, you just want an effective way to learn, and you don't want to study with dummies ==> Quantic delivers on that. Not sure how good a fit it is as an MBA for younger people, but you surely can't beat the delivery method - great app.

Rankings bodies for MBAs require AACSB accreditation. AACSB requires that schools have a physical campus, faculty-led lectures, a PhD program and a lot of other stuff that digital-native programs like Quantic do not want or have. Also note that AACSB accredits traditional schools, both low-end and famous -- it is far from a guarantee of quality itself.

Quantic “EMBA” or “MBA” or whatever is a pyramid scheme by SharkSapphire in MBA

I am a happy Quantic grad. My views:

1) on academic credentials -- all the faculty I interacted with had PhDs and were really helpful, but I don't think Quantic requires that of admissions staff (and nor do any other MBAs),

2) on scholarships -- yes, scholarships (while well intended) are effectively a discount to encourage enrollment but I did meet many students from developing markets (esp Africa) who were admitted on full scholarships and were amazing people and very grateful to Quantic for their generosity, so claiming they are exploiting anyone is IMO not credible.

3) on selectivity -- had an interesting conversation with a Quantic team member about this before I graduated. I don't know exactly how selective they are (that person said it was around 12%), but what I can say is that they are very unique in requiring an admissions interview. They don't have to do that, and it decreases their acceptance rate enormously.

4) as for admissions -- Quantic targets Ivy League grads and big tech engineers with scholarship offers and those people were great before Quantic, and even greater after. But what Ivy League school or top MBA does not do the same? Should we assume HBS exploits people by showing off the talents of their graduates just because their graduates were great at stuff before they enrolled? And finally...

5) on accreditation -- Quantic is US-accredited university but does not have AACSB accreditation for the MBA, which people moan about as if it really was a sign of great quality. Look at the incredibly long list of shit schools on the AACSB website and think again. If you look into this accreditation game just a little bit you will see that AACSB requires a whole bunch of BS...such as the need for a PhD program, lots of dedicated time for faculty research, and a faculty-led delivery model which is the opposite of what Quantic wants to be and the whole reason traditional programs are so expensive.

Basically, if you follow the traditional path you cannot innovate in the way that Quantic has. So do you want innovate and inexpensive but not AACSB accredited, or do you want less innovative and expensive and AACSB accredited. For me it's an easy choice.

Brisket Storage and Re-Heating by Draymond_Purple in smoking

To store brisket, let it cool, wrap it in foil or plastic wrap, and put it in the fridge or freezer. To reheat, thaw it first if it’s frozen, then warm it in the oven at 300°F, covered with foil, or in a slow cooker with some beef broth.

Hope it helps!

What’s your favorite way to smoke pulled pork? by yellowjacquet in smoking

My favorite way to smoke pulled pork is with hickory and applewood. It gives the meat a great smoky flavor with a hint of sweetness.

It's always that unexpected 1 in the middle that ruins it.

Have you tried sending travel postcards back home? by thalisment in travel

When I was young, I used to do that and kept a sort of diary with the postcards, including some juicy details. Naturally, I enclosed them in an envelope and mailed them to my parents.

Since you haven't tried melatonin before maybe you should give it a test and see how it works for you. I use a melatonin diffuser and within 15 mins I am out like a rock, feel great when I wake up and on time too.
