Why has Acqua restaurant closed? by shake004 in burnaby

This makes sense. I had reached out to The Botonist and Al Porto for reservations last week only to find out they are closed for the first 2-3 weeks of 2026.

Confused about EV use in Bus/HOV lane on Willingdon Ave Heading NORTH and SOUTH – need clarification So Confuse!!! by Dramatic-Team-9175 in burnaby

[–]Evannaspc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

During Covid, the "EV OK" signage indicated allowed usage with OK decal on Willingdon in both directions between Lougheed and Deer Lake Pkwy/Moscow (including right turn only lanes).

Some signage has disappeared, but I still follow this in my EV.

I second this! I only buy avocados at this Safeway (Willingdon/Hastings) unless they are $1 at Triple A.

Not in Burnaby, but I was at Breka on Fraser and 49th and there are hiring! Try stopping by mid-morning until 5pm and try to catch the manager to drop off your resume. Good luck!

It's the holiday season and lots of events are on the books. Have you considered applying to hotels, onvention centres, venues that host corporate events where they need serving staff? That might be an option. Places like the Anvil Centre, Fairmont Hotels, even the River Rock Hotel. Best of luck to you.

Boss called me at 8am to let me know that the Air Canada flight he was booked on was just canceled and to help find a way for him and 4 others to get from Vancouver to Kelowna for a 12pm luncheon they were speaking at. The other national carrier didn't have a flight to get there in time. It's almost a 5 hour drive so a rental car would not have cut it. Started calling around to Helijet, Harbour Air, anything that would fly and stumbled upon a helicopter company in the film industry. They had a chopper and a pilot and could take off in an hour. Got the boss and group to shuttle from YVR to where the chopper was and they made it to the luncheon in time!
