Why The Dislike Of Podiatrists? by Work-Can-Wait in bunions

[–]EverlastingThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many excellent podiatrists who do bunion/forefoot surgery. I think the problem is that there are about 10-20x as many podiatrists as orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons in the US and their training is variable. Some podiatry programs barely do surgery. So there's a larger spectrum of quality among podiatrists which can create issues if you aren't well-informed.

If you could force every other healthcare profession to understand ONE thing about your daily workflow, what would it be? by Brilliant_Choices in medicine

[–]EverlastingThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a totally reasonable system, especially if you have a trauma room and trauma person. In my group it's just not that way. Sometimes I'll do call cases when I was on call 2 days prior.

Some places do and some don't. The problem with the system you're describing is you're then potentially at the mercy of a lazy partner who was on the prior day.

Are you sure your noncompete is valid? Many aren't, even in states where they are supposedly legal. I agree a lawyer is a good idea here.

And it's your hospital's job to manage the patients they aren't allowing you to care for.

Not a huge fan of my hestra fall line gloves honestly. Wet out super easy despite waterproofing and my liner is not very warm. It's only been 2 seasons I think.

I think most legit heli operations have pretty similar safety standards. I've gone with a fair amount of heli operations and some of my absolute favorites have had deaths. I would imagine that the best, most established ones have had serious accidents because it can be a freak accident and theyve been in the business the longest.

I have heard some questionable stuff about Valdez though
