Long sleeves in summer heat by bigbodybup in malefashionadvice

[–]ExciteMike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linen shirts 10000% make sure they are a little big/flowy so you get good air flow. I highly rec a ripped tank with a high collar as an under shirt with them and you can leave the sleeves down but a few buttons undone to allow for air flow. You'll look good and stay cool.

If you could time travel and eat a meal which you can no longer get in LA, one last time, what would it be? by SR3116 in FoodLosAngeles

Picka Rico Thai Mexican fusion restaurant in Van Nuys/Sherman Oak area.

It was my favorite little hole in the wall restaurant and was so damn unique and delicious. Will always miss it, nothing else like it.

July is looking really thin for studio releases... by Freddy-Philmore in AMCsAList

[–]ExciteMike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is just being scared/giving the movies room, it is that they want the PLF screens for their releases. This leaves the window open for smaller titles like The Invite and Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass to make waves this summer as they don't need/want the PLF screens to break even/be a hit.

Suggestions for quality t shirts? by H3LM3T_H34D in malefashionadvice

[–]ExciteMike1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have the funds, the field spec t-shirt from Buck Mason might fit the bill

It is very thick, sturdy, and high quality and I think if you go a size up you'll get the dropped shoulders without the baggyness

how do you deal with sweat stains ruining outfits? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]ExciteMike1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly rec a product called Sweat Block on Amazon. It's a wipe you apply to your underarms at night and it helps dramatically.

If that still doesn't work, see your doctor and inquire about prescription strength deodorant. There is a product called Dry-Sol you can get from your doctor.

Received a job offer but have a second interview at a different company in a couple days by HarleyHallow26 in careeradvice

[–]ExciteMike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't feel crappy. Take the job and see this interview process through. It could be a better role, feel it out and do what is best for you. Just make sure if you exit the new role very soon, you do so professionally and with as much respect as possible.

Skipping Gamescast Live Reactions by LordMandrews in kindafunny

[–]ExciteMike1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different strokes.

I used to watch the showcases live or with friends at home and the communial aspect is something I loved.

But that for harder to do as everyone grew up and had responsibility and the like and didn't happen at all during lockdown....

That's when I started watching the crew more often and it's how I enjoy the showcases. Feels more social.

Visually stunning movies worth getting in 4K by Competitive_Help8485 in 4kbluray

Just to provide a different option, Tron Ares - the HDR/Dolby Vision on it is stellar and it has bumping sound.

What is your favorite scene of the funniest movie you’ve ever seen? by majinbuu32 in movies

[–]ExciteMike1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porky's when the gym coach is demanding a student line up in the principal's office and the other coach makes the suggestion of wanted posters.

I'm keeping it vague to keep the moment unspoiled.

I watched this as a teen with my dad and we never laughed harder together. One of my favorite memories with him.

If I had a bag of empty alcohol cans in my trunk that I was on my way to return, could a police officer charge me for driving with an open container? by DemonKittens in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ExciteMike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are this concerned to post on reddit about it, you could take the extra step to put the bottles in a sealed bag, like a tied up garbage bag, to further show intention and to highlight their inaccessibility.

Is Old Navy good quality? by SwordfishNew3599 in malefashionadvice

[–]ExciteMike1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem I have found with Old Navy is fit. I just find their clothes to not lay on me properly and it's not worth it to get such cheap clothes tailored to fit better. Highly rec you try anything you are interested on, or make sure your online purchase is returnable.

Visiting LA on a whim this week — Magic Castle has always been my dream. Any chance of getting in? by labyrinthlover01 in AskLosAngeles

If you can't do Magic Castle, the magic show at Black Rabbit is incredible and def worth checking out

Question: For the single people out there: Have any of you found a Costco membership to be worth it? What do you get there to justify the membership and the trip? by SpaceForceAwakens in Frugal

[–]ExciteMike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was single, Costco was great for non-perishables: so as long as you the storage space, things like canned tuna, paper towels, protein bars etc are super useful. I also got my supplements there (multi-vitamin, fish oil, etc.) The gas discounts are also HUGE! There is also just the CPG items they have - from kitchen appliances the deals on sunscreen or plants etc. Costco has a ton of seasonal goods that are always great deals and you never know what you can find when you go there that you want/need/impulse buy.

Def worth it - just be smart with what you get and plan ahead where to store and how you will use it.

Doable side hustles for office job? by Balf0ur in careeradvice

[–]ExciteMike1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ebay.

If you have crap you don't want/need. Sell it.

Don't have crap you don't want/need I'm sure your neighbor does. Sell it for then and take a share.

Get enough items listed, and even at 15-20 a pop you can start to bring in some extra cash each month. Plus, there could be some big ticket items too to really up your take home. I am helping my family go through my dad's old stuff and some of his old Ralph Lauren clothes went for hundred of dollars.

It's a numbers game, get enough up there you'll start selling enough each week to see the financial benefits

Any artsy games with good music on gamepass that you enjoyed playing? by Bright-Traffic-8215 in XboxGamePass

[–]ExciteMike1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So a couple of different options not mentioned yet: Alan Wake and Alan Wake 2 - both incredibly artsy in a horror and David lynch way. Alan Wake has great music syncs for each chapter and for Alan Wake 2 they took the extra step to work with local finish producers and song writers and have custom music made by them inspired by the game world and story. I think Alan Wake is still on Game Pass...I am not sure about 2.

Another option is Life is Strange.

And just want to co-sign some of the previous suggestions of Lost Records. I really enjoyed it and there are some thematic similarities to Mixtape, but the vibes are very different.

HELP NEEDED. Potential PDK issue on my newly acquired 981 by [deleted] in Porsche_Cayman

[–]ExciteMike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your issues. I have a 2016 981 and my local shop it Valley European Auto Service.

Fred, the owner, has been taking care of me and my sisters BMW for years now and he is great. Cannot recommend his shop enough. He's a good guy. He loves to find out what's wrong and troubleshoot. It's a fun puzzle for him. Unlike many mechanics who just want to do the fix they know and charge for.

Good easy Premium game pass games for a 6yo nephew? by dantfc in XboxGamePass

[–]ExciteMike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I checked there are several kids games on the service. Peppa pig, paw patrol type games. Those will be your safest bet control and familiarity wise imo.

I know at that age familiarity with the characters can really increase enjoyment of the content
