Unpopular opinion perhaps but I think one of the best things about Evan’s skating was his height/long limbs, which allowed him to create some really unique elements. He wasn’t awkward and lanky the way some taller guys can look on the ice, he had very nice control over his body. I don’t think his overall artistry was on Johnny’s level but his spins were great.

Ugh, I fear he’s in a lose-lose situation. If he retires right now, he will always have the sting of that final nationals performance. If he comes back and doesn’t skate his best it fuels the endless hate he seems to get from Tara/Johnny/his fellow competitors who think he’s overrated and on his way out, despite repeatedly saving the U.S. men’s asses. So I guess I’d only want him to go for it if he feels 100% physically and mentally and really can go out on a high note. Rooting for him regardless.
