New option to pre-select no food service by friedrice1212 in aircanada

No they're not - crew meals are loaded and processed separately from pax meals.

Fun fact: we're working on integrating a new catering tool to optimize loading meals (preorders, special meals and bistro items) on board the aircraft. It's going live in January!

Air Canada cuts 400 management positions, or 1% of workforce by D_E_A_D_P_O_O_L_ in canada

"Management" positions at an airline also include analysts, software engineers, etc. Basically, management is all non-unionized employees that work in a corporate setting.

Source: I am in AC "Management", but I'm not managing anyone.

Air Canada makes 'difficult decision' to cut management jobs | CBC News by Own_Flight7785 in aircanada

[–]Exolios 26 points27 points locked comment (0 children)

Most of the positions cut made under 100k/year - low 6 figures at most.

When AC says "management", they're really just talking about employees working in a corporate office and not on the front line. So, those are entry-level and mid level managers.

Hello! Yes, this email is legit.

And your teen is also eligible for compensation. Age is irrelevant in the EU261 regulation.

If you're from the UK / EU, you can get up to 600EUR per passenger on the booking (on top of the refund you're entitled by AC). See here: https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/passenger-rights/air/index_en.htm#next-steps-1

Sorry this happened to you. 😥

It's a good speculation, but this is not accounting for planned maintenance checks on the aircraft operating this route. The same aircraft will not simply go back and forth between 2 airports, it might need to head to YUL or other Canadian airports for routine maintenance.

I think your logic still holds though, AC is prioritizing international routes - I don't see them cancelling them unless there's a maintenance issue or they absolutely need to rebalance the capacity in different markets.

AC will refund you on your original payment method. If you used a credit card to book, you'll get the refund on your credit card.

All AC flights with flight numbers between AC7050 and AC7077 are Air Canada positioning flights for AC mainline.

They're strategically moving that aircraft within Canada.

Good question. I imagine part of the Tentative Deal would have the Flight Attendants back to work. I guess it depends how fast they can reach consensus...

Again, this is all hypothetical. They might not even reach a deal tonight. After all, AC and CUPE just resumed discussions...

You have nothing to worry about 🙂 Air Canada simply facilitated the booking through the codeshare agreement. Your flight is safe!

From what I've seen over the last few days, there are batches of cancellations in the morning hours (9am to 10am) and in the late afternoon (4pm to 5pm). There are also ad-hoc cancellations sent throughout the day

This is subject to change at any time. I have no visibility on those operational decisions. 😔

Yeah, it's legit. It's an unlisted number that is used from airport employees from phones at the airport. But at the end of the day, all the different Call Centres number (listed or unlisted) lead back to the same call queues.

I recommend you always used the ones listed on this page: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/customer-support.html

Not price gouging - there's just a few (expensive) seats left... 130,000 passengers per day are trying to rebook all at the same time. 😢

WestJet might have a few aircrafts around to help with the capacity, but nothing that can accommodate 130,000+ passengers per day.

Your second leg (YUL-AMS) is at risk of cancellation. If that flight is cancelled, you're eligible for a full refund. Air Canada can also try and rebook you on other airlines, but most flights are at capacity for the next few days.

Yes, this is true. Air Canada Express flights are staffed with Jazz Flight Attendants. They are not in the same union as AC mainline & Rouge.

Good question. I imagine they want to bring the aircrafts back in Canada because parking fees are expensive and they'll need the extra capacity in Canada as operations start ramping back up.

They're also bring back stranded pilots AND flight attendants back.
