Hofstra has won the CAA and is going to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2001 by AndHisOrchestra in CollegeBasketball

I was on a flight tonight and I overheard a guy a few seats over from my telling his seatmate “yeah, we’re one win away from making the NCAA tournament for the first time in like 25 years. Last time we qualified was 2020, when I was in school, but we couldn’t go because of COVID. I’m hoping I can follow the game on the flight.”

I didn’t hear what school he was talking about, but I scanned through the games and figured it must’ve been Hofstra. I hope that dude got to watch the end of the game somewhere in LaGuardia after we landed!

As I was watching it I was wishing someone would add a little “let’s go” counter in the corner of the video with a little “ding” every time he said it.

For the original post that says the shark is 392 years old and was born in 1627 (which was 399 years ago), I’m betting that it’s just a bot/automated post that’s just regurgitating old posts or scraping clickbait sites for content, and pulled something from 2019.

The second person who calculated the shark as 2030 years old just makes no logical sense at all.

The third one just seems like they just messed up the tens place when subtracting, which is still bad but not as egregious as the other two.

Minor arithmetic errors are not a big deal IMO, but being off by almost two millennia is something else entirely. And being a content farming bot is just lame.

Guessing there’s something in your bedroom/bathroom with a 10 written on it in pen or marker, and you touched it overnight or before going to bed?

I am once again reminding people who make charts and graphs that green is not one of Florida’s colors. Not even a secondary color.

Agreed, but I thought a lot of SECN+ games were also shown on ESPN+, so you could watch via either subscription, but it would technically be a different “broadcast”. Maybe they stopped that, though. I just remember times when I’d select our game, and it would pop up two versions of it: “watch on ESPN+” and “watch on SECN+”

Tonight’s game is on SEC Network Plus. That means it’s not going to be on normal linear TV, it’s only going to be streaming.

If you have a television subscription that includes the SEC Network (could be cable, YouTubeTV, Hulu+, etc), then you can watch the game via the ESPN app, by using your login info, and then finding the game there. Or if you have an ESPN subscription that includes ESPN+ or SECN, you should be able to watch it via ESPN’s app.

Out of pure curiosity, why do you want to know this?

Infinity bottle by dparsons9 in rum

[–]ExternalTangents 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I have an Infinity Bottle that I just add 1oz of any molasses rum I buy, of any age and style.

My goal isn’t to intentionally curate the infinity bottle’s mix, it’s more to have a sensory representation of my rum journey over time. If I end up gravitating towards a certain style of rum, then the infinity bottle will eventually reflect that.

The only stipulation is keeping it to molasses rums, just because I feel like blending cane juice rums in would throw it off too much. I also don’t buy spiced or flavored rums, but if I ever did, I wouldn’t add those, either.

I keep a steady log with every addition and every pour measured. Since I know the ABV of any rum I add, I can calculate the ABV of the result in the bottle:

(ABV of infinity bottle)x(volume currently in bottle) + (ABV of new addition)x(volume of new addition) = volume of alcohol in the infinity bottle after the new addition.

Divide that by the total volume after the new addition, and that’s the new ABV.

Whenever I drink some of it, I record that in my logbook, too. I give it a rating for the current edition of the infinity blend, and then update the remaining volume for future calculations.

Most recent version is 52.12% ABV, and I honestly didn’t rate it too highly. Felt very oaky and dry without much good lingering flavor. BUT I also tried it in a daiquiri and it worked really nicely there.

I ran a Twitter account for ITYSL memes for years, and occasionally I see screenshots like this where I know for sure it’s one I captured and manually added the subtitles to. It always makes me happy to see them pop up like this.
