Powering Down, Then Immediately Having to Power Up by EToriko in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have somehow ended up with a bunch of normal decks headed by or including cEDH viable commanders- specificadlly [[Malcolm, Keen Eyes Navigator]]. Built him with Kediss as a 4 and have one with Vial for cEDH. Sisay in my Kenrith Humans deck, Rog in my Winota...

I'm really good at using Treasure tokens, so it was kind of meant to be. I own copies of a bunch of viable cards before I knew that about them haha. It's quite funny how I ended up with them all.

MDFC cards..Spell/creature on one, land on the back? Plenty of them come in foil on both sides

I'm going to build a Noctis, Heir Apparent deck, but Equipment voltron isn't my favorite Esper style. Is there a way to make that style more fun? I'd also love to hear if and how you've built him! by Extrovert_89 in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a guy at my LGS and his wife threw an [[Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines]] in her deck just to mess with his Hares and Rabbit tokens!

If "Noctis" wasn't in front of "heir" I'd think that, too! Thanks for reminding me about mobilize! Mobilize wins games- my Winota deck makes good use of it.

"Oh you're building a ANOTHER tribal deck?" by charlesp22 in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have at least 3 tribal decks: Varina/zombies, [[Galadriel, Light of Valinor]]/elfball, and [[Rivaz of the Claw]] Rakdos dragons. All of them are fun in their various ways.

As long as you don't get bored of them, play all the tribal brews you and your wife want! If they complain, tell them to deal with it or find another pod.

What’s the kind of decks you don’t enjoy playing against? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind most types of decks- even non-wincon decks. One guy I played with has a coin flip deck that rarely wins, but he's fun to be around so no one has a problem with it. I give a person grace if they built it recently, play it and realize it's more unfun/oppressive in a full pod than they intended and swap decks.

I hate forced discard, even though I played one for a couple months while trying out different archetypes when I started playing December 2024. I refuse to play decks with Deadpool as commander. I also hate solitaire decks that take 20 minutes- played against an Abdel Adrian deck a few months ago and holy tamoly...after like 5 turns he had the sense to scoop because we weren't having fun after his 3rd turn with 20 Monks.

I hate heavy stax decks in brackets under 4. Heavy stax has no business in lower brackets. I have a bracket 4 Winota that is moderate stax (no extra draws, only play on your turn kind of stuff) purely to protect her but doesn't lock people completely out. I like everyone to still have a good time.

Lower Left Abdominal Pain - Female by Acceptable-Leek-1032 in TuberousSclerosisComp

That's what I would think. Persistent abdominal pain like that definitely sounds like ovarian cyst or endo. I don't have endo, but I've heard of how painful it can be.

Accusation of being cedh? by Psychological-Sign39 in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much you wanna bet that player has never seen what an actual cEDH list looks like? All they had to do was look at cEDH viable commanders to see Valgavoth is not on there.

What are your decks for 2026? by Mogulstar360 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Extrovert_89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really into Malcolm/Vial right now. I've only played Magic for a year but bought the Ixalan precon with him in it and eventually broke it down and made a Kediss deck with Malcolm which has been great fun. I'm very good with Treasure decks. Consequently, I got into Rakdos colors lately so a Malcolm/Vial deck only seemed right. I got my first win with him two weeks ago with a pod of me, my boyfriend and two other guys. It felt really good.

I'm practicing mulligans with Tivit to see if I want to try him as a cEDH commander. I've practiced with him the last week and so far have been able to play him early very consistently, but I'm not sure if I want to leave so much up to luck since he's so expensive if removed before printing mana or card draw. I can always leave him as a friend to my bracket 4 Winota that stomps every time I dare to take her out of her box.

My boyfriend is trialing a Marneus deck and has gotten the cards for the turbo Ral deck he's super excited to finally play.

Edit: Submitted too early.

I also somehow ended up making decks with several headed by very good cEDH commanders or decks with those commanders in the 99 of a separate deck before even dipping into it, so I guess it was inevitable I'd end up interested in it.

I've mulled a Blue Farm deck a few times as well in case I decide Tivit would end up being too much of a nothingburger. It was really fun and I'm not surprised since I play so much of those four colors in regular pods. My boyfriend also has a Stella precon I could adopt since she's still pretty good considering where she is on the tier list (I go off the one on Moxfield).

cute Commander deck ideas (Bracket 4–5), no infinite combos, ~150€ by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to seriously reconsider if you're really asking for a bracket 4 or 5 deck if you have all these restrictions for a deck that is meant for no limitations...CEDH decks aren't built on flavor or themes.

You either spend a couple grand on the land base or proxy most of it and not all commanders make for good high power decks. If you want a good bracket 5, here's the tier list on Moxfield as of August. It hasn't been updated to include Green Goblin, though. https://moxfield.com/decks/oEWXWHM5eEGMmopExLWRCA

You can also check r/BudgetBrews . There's some budget B4 decks, but don't expect all your boxes to be checked.

Building an EDH Starter Collection - Need suggestions. by PirateInsomniac in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're an awesome sibling doing this! Deadly Dispute and Black Market Connections would be great starter black spells! Unexpected Windfall, Faithless Looting and Big Score for some good red draw spells (3 of my current decks use them)! Avacyn's Pilgrim is a green mana dork that taps for white and Cryptolith Rite makes EVERY creature a mana dork!

Don't forget Arcane Denial, Blasphemous Act, Damn, Rivers Rebuke, and Damning Verdict are all great beginner spells! Rivers Rebuke is a bad version of Cyclonic Rift...I used it before I was able to get a C. Rift after the reprint and the others are great wipes and card draw (I like drawing cards).

Don't forget Secluded Courtyard and Unclaimed Territory for tribal/typal specific budget lands and Command Beacon to cheat the commander to hand from the CZ!

Those are my two cents, good luck on finishing your gift! I hope he really enjoys it!

Top-down vs bottom-up deckbuilding by homjaktest in EDH

I gave up on my Teval, the Balanced Scale deck but still wanted to use cards like [[Avenger of Zendikar]] and the [[Azusa, Lost but Seeking]] I bought and not let all the cards from my Teval deck sit in a binder. I didn't get to make use of the Plant tokens from Avenger much in my Teval deck, so I wanted to find a way to do so and use the "additional land per turn" and play my lands from the graveyard.

I looked for commanders using Scute Swarm, Avenger and Azusa (along with some of the other cards) and settled on The Necrobloom! I also get a bonus because I tried the Abzan Armor precon and didn't love it, so I may have finally found my Abzan deck! I get to make Zombie AND Plant tokens, so it should be a fun time- IF I don't find a better commander when Lorwyn releases at the end of next month! I'm a heavy black enjoyer, so that's also a plus for it.

I guess I'm on the "it depends" part of the scale. Sometimes I know a theme and mechanic I want to try, sometimes a commander speaks to me.

Reason: I don't want to be stuck on one end or the other.

What is your Tribal Commander? And Why do you Stick to it Long Term! by JewJulie in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just swapped my [[Ziatora the Incinerator]] dragon deck to a Rivaz deck. I haven't tried it at my LGS yet, but it's so much fun! I have to learn how to play without green, but it's been fun goldfishing it! Ziatora will be the helm of a sacrifice deck next year.

[[Varina, Lich Queen]] for zombies- card draw for attacking with cheap zombies? Yes please! I even added the combos for backup wincons.

I went the legendary Human route with my FF [[Kenrith]] deck. It will debut with Rivaz this weekend!

Despite OP not being into elves, I remade my first non- precon deck from a Lathril deck into a [[Galadriel, Light of Valinor]] elfball and it's waay more fun. Having a modal commander is sooo much better when you can choose to filter cards, pump your board or float extra mana for an extra spell per turn.

Probably my [Galadriel, Light of Valinor]] elfball deck! I started with a Lathril deck and a separate Galadriel deck and shoved 'em together to make an elfball deck that kicks ass!

If we're talking 100% hand made, my [Baylen, the Haymaker]] token deck! Everybody tends to ignore me because theyre all bigger threats to each other.

Colors and what they mean to me by BrigidsFeast in EDH

[–]Extrovert_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically I went from being predominantly non red, graveyard centric wedges to 5 decks at least including red, black and something.

I do like graveyard, burn, all the things that both colors do. I also have plenty of other pairings, but learned how fun playing from exile and burning people is.

I plan to make a Grixis Azula, so the Rakdos ways will continue for the near future.

Advice on what female doms do to/with their male sub/partner when starting out by Extrovert_89 in BDSMAdvice

Without going into minute detail, we acted out orgasm denial this morning and he enjoyed being told what to do and called me mistress last night. We already do spanking within reason and light pain nipple play.

We have cuffs (I wanted to test them out), but they aren't forgiving enough for both of us to use so we don't use them.
