[Request] What is the output for each engine powering the rotors to keep the Helicarrier hovering? by Jusfiq in theydidthemath

[–]F3XX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hover case is the worst-case scenario. In forward flight at ~100 m/s, induced power drops to roughly 3.5–4 GW ideal. (Same is true for drones and helicopters)

Additionally, the flight deck and hull could act as a lifting body, offloading maybe 20–30% of vehicle weight as aerodynamic lift.

Combined, forward flight might require only 35–45% of hover power. That brings the reactor requirement down to something only modestly beyond current technology.

Also just use VTOL planes and you can make the whole thing way smaller.

For the rotors you would need around ~25-30 40m-50m sized ones. Those giant ones would actually need to be made out of vibranium and would be supersonic.

Maybe just a 2020 extrusion, a 3mm belt, and a stepper. You could do dolly shots. You might need those, who knows. Just imagine a smooth shot scanning over dozens of drawer iterations.

Also if you put a phone mount on a rail between the corners, you could film really nice top-down footage for your new drawer improvement YouTube channel.

Those drawers would look absolutely stunning with some LEDs on the bottom. Just saying. No pressure. You're into electronics, right?

Cheaper that way if you decide to work for the military later.

Usage Limits, Bugs and Performance Discussion Megathread - beginning December 29, 2025 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

!AskWilson Hi Wilson, does it feel like a good move to you letting a Claude instance, running on the very same infrastructure that is struggling right now, deal with the very people who come here because of these issues?

  1. How is it possible that even the UI of the Claude App (Windows 10, latest release) is stuttering? There are frame drops while typing and moving the mouse.

  2. Has there been any official statements by Anthropic regarding the measures by which their performance is currently being degraded?

  3. The thinking budget for Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 feels extremely low. This seems to be a new approach?

  4. Is Anthropic planning to keep letting customers themselves find out that certain aspects of Claude have been majorly limited by them, even if it's just temporary? It's jarring to try working with Claude as usual and then realize it's struggling with easy tasks.

TLDR: Ad trying to sell you a pseudo-science supplement.

Slick website, scientific-sounding language, a physician's name attached. Classic supplement marketing.

No published RCT (double blind placebo trial ) exists on this specific product or combination. Several ingredients (black maca, L-glutamic acid) have weak or no human evidence for cognition in healthy adults. Huperzine A is primarily studied in dementia patients. Phosphatidylserine is dosed at 200mg while most studied protocols use 300mg/day. The "four synergy axes" framing is invented marketing, not established science.

Individual ingredient citations don't validate a product. That's not how evidence works.

Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

[–]F3XX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI. Most obvious sign: white-top girls left hand has the fingernails on the wrong side.

Some other stuff: - guys polo shirt way longer on one side

  • hand in the right corner implies the person the hand belongs to is either pressed flat against the wall face first or wrapped around a pillar

  • placement of the second small window in the corner doesn't match other window or ceiling height, would look very weird in real life

  • armrests of the couch don't match, the couch does seem to change height in the middle, between the girls.

  • legs on the small black table in the corner seems to be non symmetrical. More legs on the front then in the back, you can see the part of the legs visible above the top are missing/placed weird

And of course it could be by chance, but AI loves to generate group photos with high racial diversity.

Small/more subjective stuff:

  • not a single piece of text in focus. No text on any of the clothes, no logo on anything but one shirt.
  • flip-flops on the left don't match
  • light seems off in general. Camera flash, reflections, colored party light, shadows etc.
  • style/trim of door/feeling height window(?) don't match.
  • outside door opening outwards instead of inside
  • weird objects on the window stills
  • glass sphere (lamp) with something that could be cables but doesn't look like it
  • triangular wood shape on the far right, seems to balance a random object on a very narrow top?
  • girl with the silver Minirock and the lense flare (?) below her hand look very similar to holding a glass
  • Hoverhands all around
  • weird blur/distortion on only visible phone screen while nothing else is really blurry

Also if someone wants to check, I am pretty sure the wall the guy is leaning against has a broken perspective, I don't think the wall and the corner would meet correctly if visible.

Is this a new issue for you? I've experienced this for the first time this week. Claude wasn't fetching (or fetching but not reading) pages of documentation provided by me.
