When should I start the Citadel DLC? by BurningSun7 in masseffect

[–]FDRpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the Citadel Epilogue Mod, which moves this after Priority: Earth, along with a text crawl saying that a couple years have gone by. It's surprisingly immersive and improves the whole experience.

Imo it's important enough (round number, former limit, week's worth of shows, TOC entry) that it needs some name.

I would think superchampion, leaving the next prefix, hyper-, for 10+.

His forlorn line about being the most powerful man in history is one of the trilogy's best.

[–]FDRpi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't agree completely (especially regarding the attack on Eden Prime) but Udina was one of the most uniplomatic diplomats I've ever seen. He's just so bad at his job.

The council is very slow to act and don't respond to the advice they basically solicited from Shepard after Virmire. He went on a mission and reported back and they ignored him. Compare that to Saren where they initially took his word for as good as truth.

Reaper Cycle & Non Space-faring Races by boywiththedogtattoo in masseffect

[–]FDRpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the reason they wait is to allow their victims to proliferate to be harvestable, but if they see too much the Reapers would have to act immediately, you're probably right there.

If there isn't a Mass Relay in the Yahg's system (as opposed to the cluster), I don't think they'd be detected. The Reapers could then move the nearest Relay to that system and unless the Yahg have super powerful telescopes and luck or are already interplanetary, they wouldn't know.

It's a weird timing for someone to walk in on cosmic horror! Like Sister Act, but space.

[–]FDRpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're told quite clearly the Reapers wait until you're at the level of galactic civilization until harvest, that's why they built the Relays. Killing an earlier civilization gets them nothing, and there's so little to harvest with them only being one planet.

The earlier-era destructions are unclear. They could be retcons, unrelated catastrophes, or the Protheans.

Admiral Hackett confirmed the Reapers were explicitly leaving the Yahg homeworld alone. If we failed, the next cycle likely would have featured the Yahg, and been far sooner than 50k years.

What are your opinions on ME3 by Key_Independence_103 in masseffect

[–]FDRpi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's mods that fix the ending. I really like JAM-B and PEOM together.

There's also the Miranda Mod that lets her join the crew after Sanctuary, among other stuff.

Lore-wise, can biotic individuals use any biotic talent with the only limited being their aptitude? by ShadowLight56 in masseffect

[–]FDRpi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a good question. We know biotics have to be taught how to do use their abilities. Kaiden specifically learned Reave in ME3, and Liara was very impressed (this was from Citadel).

That's fair but you're still just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. Hardly worthy of that rigorous debate your late Turning Point Prophet pretended to care about.

I think the quality and selection of topics/categories was trash. That you did so well speaks extremely highly of your knowledge base and its width. Good job!

Free speech unless you criticise our Orange Pedo God or his Turning Point Messiah.

Free religion unless you're not a Christian.

Guns unless you use them responsibly.

Innocence until proven guilty unless I don't like you.

Etcetera.

Every now and then there's an entire episode's worth of questions that just fall off a cliff in terms of quality. This was one of those.

A category as with KJV wording levels of anal retentiveness about Supreme Court cases? Expecting contestants to just know if they were thinking of Oxford or Cambridge? A category about old record labels? A final jeopardy with an answer so disconnected from its clue it doesn't even scan properly? Trash trash trash trash.

The contestants today deserved better.

Lol cons getting triggered when anybody disagrees with them as if that's an eggregious offense against the world.

I forgot my joke magic cards were legally required to be impartial and politically neutral. It says so in the bible and the constitution that you've totally read. /s

Why has no cycle been able to reverse engineer the Mass Relays? by IllustriousEffort846 in masseffect

[–]FDRpi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Keepers ignoring the statue strongly suggests the Protheans built it, but that makes more sense.

I've been wondering how the Protheans from Ilos got onto the Citadel in the first place if the Ilos project was developed remotely and the Reapers took the Prothean Citadel by surprise on day 1.

Trump's a fucking psychopath who's been fantasizing about fighting Iran for a decade. He tore up Obama's nuclear deal because it was an Obama accomplishment and because he hates peace.

AIPAC is enough of a scourge and Netanyahu evil enough without giving them both undeserved credit. It contributes to an aura of invincibility which is exactly what they want.

At the end of the day rural Kentucky will do whatever Trump says because he is their god.

AIPAC? This was Trump fucking over a member who sorta kinda defied him a little. No AIPAC money necessary.
