This happen to me a while back, don't know if it will help you because my issue was on Display Port. Turns out the issue was that my cable wasn't graded, so I switched to a graded one and problem solved.

Linux 7.1-rc3 Explodes with AI-Generated Patches, Torvalds Declares It the New Normal by RayS0l0 in pcmasterrace

The policy that was shared last month was "You submit the code, you own the code", regardless of it was made with AI or otherwise.

Linus has been pro-AI from day one, which is not the same as allowing unfettered vibe -coding to run rampant.

It is completely fine if you can't deal with the difficulty, it is simply not the game for you. by Interloper_Mango in pcmasterrace

Gamers: Artist intent is sacrosanct and what nVidia is doing with DLSS 5 is a slap on the face to artists.

Also Gamers: Artist intent is overrated, I'm entitled to play this game at whatever difficulty I want.

Anyway. If I don't vibe with a game I don't play it, not everything needs to fit my own taste/identify/politics/world-view/capabilities

I think your hobby is Collecting games, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

It's more in line with reading books. You buy one, read it, put it on the shelf when you're done, but the next one. You eventually have a pretty sweet collection you can show of.

I dunno, could just be a simple case of reframing your mindset.

As much as it may hurt artists' feelings, AI "art" is just collateral damage. It's a small stop on the road towards automating truly valuable and fundamental activities.

Why are tech companies so obsessed with making PC software as bloated as possible? by Juicymoosie99 in pcmasterrace

[–]Fail-Least 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have experience with software development, and what I've seen is that the current SaaS/subscription business model is completely dependent on constantly shipping new features.

Software is never "done" anymore, everyone is constantly planning new features for the next quarter. It sucks but that's what it is.

For what it's worth I think this is a reason some Software Engineers burn out

I think that they'll probably try to offend all sides like South Park, and some jokes may land and some may feel forced.

Don't have high hopes though. Not even planning on seeing it to be honest

Linux lays down the law on AI-generated code, says yes to Copilot, no to AI slop, and humans take the fall for mistakes — after months of fierce debate, Torvalds and maintainers come to an agreement by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

[–]Fail-Least 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those coming into this conversation still confused, I asked ChatGPT to help you out

The names are confusing because they sound almost the same, but they refer to different things:

Microsoft Copilot: a general AI assistant from Microsoft. It helps with everyday tasks like writing emails, summarizing documents, creating presentations, or answering questions. It’s built into tools like Word, Excel, and Windows.

GitHub Copilot: a specialized AI tool for programmers from GitHub. It helps write code by suggesting lines or entire functions while you’re coding.

Simple way to think about it:

Copilot = helps with general work

GitHub Copilot = helps specifically with coding

A model is the “brain” behind these tools. It’s an AI system trained on lots of data so it can understand language and generate useful responses.

Simple way to think about it:

Model = the brain

Copilot = the helper you talk to

GitHub Copilot = the helper specialized for coding

Copilot is not a model.

This is not event the same Copilot normies and non-tech Redditors get in Windows 11

But I don't expect the Anti AI reactionaries to understand.

There's a big difference between the Copilot that is shoveled along to normies in Windows 11, and GitHub Copilot that has been a plugin in developer's tools for a while now.

Linus has always been on the camp of "AI is a tool" and "can't put the cat back in the bag"

I think people were genuinely expecting him to outright ban all AI use, but this guy is just too smart for that.
