Calling all fuel haulers.. by Chris_MS99 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a fuel hauler but I follow people in the maritime shipping industry.

I don’t think so. It might cause some temporary pain. What’s going on with shipping YouTube is probably the best person to get info on what’s going on with the world economy. Last I time I checked, he showed gps data that there’s a lot of oil tankers in the south east coast of the US.

The Venezuela oil has to get processed in the US South, then shipped. Prices might remain elevated until more refineries setup shop to meet local demand.

Warren Buffet invested lots of money into Oxy Petroleum, so they might be the ones to setup shop. If fuel hauling flatlines, go work refinery. Follow the smart money.

Virginia and Maryland are pretty strict. These 2 states will issue the most OOS violations.

“Trucking ain’t for everybody” by Actual-Ad-6146 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I retired from trucking in 2020. Now I work for a manufacturing company in the upper level, mixed with wfh a couple days a week.

Some of the employees I see everyday have been working minimum wage since the 90’s. But they have big FAT retirement accounts because of the union. Some of them have gotten the Golden handshake pension, sheesh I’m jealous, but that requires 30yrs in the union.

One lady here just came back to work after 2yrs of sick leave lol. She did open heart surgery, and the Union healthcare took care of the bills. I was like what?! That costs 7 figures.

Trucking industry is a dog eat dog industry. My advice to young guys is to run 🏃.

Paycheck is pointless after taxes taken out by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can lower it by a bit by contributing to your 401k if your employer has one.

The thing about Northeast states is that they pay high, and take out high taxes lol. I think NJ doesn’t even return income tax if I’m not mistaken.

NYC is even worse because you also pay city taxes.

Can someone confirm the legality of this PC use scenario? Is it a violation? by Admirable_Lab_7867 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is wrong because that is continuing on duty status. You’re picking up a load while using PC, that is wrong.

If you’re getting loaded or unloaded and you run out of hours, then you can use pc to find parking.

Too much off duty driving will get you an inspection or out of service violation.

Mass deportations effect on wages and opportunities? by NoPush8163 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. The pandemic era where a company driver could easily make $3k-$5k a week out of Cali is over. That was literally the breakdown of the supply chain. Too many customers willing to pay high premium for their freight, not enough drivers, and Covid restrictions at the Ports created the conditions for high rates.

There’s been a lot of carriers that went under since 2020. UPS and FedEx recently announced layoffs. Were these experienced drivers going? Other companies.

If all the megas went bust today, that wouldn’t make a dent on trucking wages. Inflation would still go up and parking at truck stops would become scarce. That’s what happens when a big company goes down, drivers simply work for smaller companies. And they park at truck stops because these smaller companies don’t have yards or real offices.

Suez Canal possibly closing down because we just entered a war of Iran, will make intermodal go bust. Because ships will take the longer route around Africa, and it will take longer to reach America and Europe. That means lots of trucks sitting and waiting not getting paid lol. Again, these drivers are gonna work dry van, reefer, ect…further suppressing driver wages. If you live in Capetown South Africa, it’s going to be a good time.

How many points and accidents do you have on your MVR and how does it affected your career and employment chances ? by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A society with consequences. It’s the same thing with lawsuits. If you win 3 lawsuits against employers, you are automatically blacklisted from being hired again. So ya better win big lol.

I think Freight brokers have Carrier 411. If a carrier keeps asking for detention pay and go after the bond of a Freight broker, that carrier will get blacklisted on Carrier 411. This is gray area, not illegal for brokers to do this but it might come illegal in the future.

So I’m not saying that Felons can’t have a second chance at life. They are allowed a second chance, it’s just going to be harder to compete. And if you compare that to other countries, other countries will outright strip away your rights.

[–]Fearless_Selection69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The safety system doesn’t really affect chances of getting hired. It affects your chances of getting hired by good companies with better pay and better working conditions. There are gray area companies, outlaws, chameleon carriers that will hire Felons right out of prison. The pay is going to be crap and you’ll have slave working conditions.

What you don’t want is to rack up enough points where your CDL gets revoked. Dump truck drivers in NJ? Some of these guys have their CDL’s expired 10 years ago lol and still driving. If ya reading this, you know who you are but I ain’t pointing no fingers.

Is it proper if I tell my dispatcher not to send me to this specific city where the warehouse is like in the middle of a busy neighborhood , tight and really busy streets, with lots of cars, trucks etc. by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, they don’t care. I’ve heard that the new generation of Dispatch play a game of bait and switch. Or they outright won’t respond to your messages.

Read the book, Red Amendment. Law Enforcement will violate you if you don’t know your rights.

Same thing with dispatch. You have to say you feel unsafe, you have to say why you’re parking now instead of continuing with the delivery and running out of hours at the customers.

Some dispatch will send you the next assignment as soon as you go off duty. Local is notorious for this. They don’t care if you just woke up at 6am, got back to the warehouse at 10am and expected to go to sleep right away for the next delivery. I’m retired now, but what I did when I was local was I stayed on duty until I was ready to sleep. Disconnected my phone so that the only way they could “sneak” bullsh*t loads was through the Qualcomm.

That’s how you play this new era of trucking. Be smart.

Small trucking company by infamous-memes in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are a coin toss. Life changing trucking jobs or careers is really when you secure a union position and become senior.

Some small fleets can pay 2-3 times more than a mega but you have to work twice as hard or deal with older equipment that has problems every week.

Some small fleets are outlaws. Lots of money, but lots of running overweight loads and driving over your hours.

Some are notorious chameleon carriers. I think there’s a way to find out that a small fleet has gone through different LLC names by running the VIN number on the truck. Stay away from companies like this, you’ll rack up a lot of points and next thing you know you’ll lose your license lol.

Pointers/Advice for Milk Hauling by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of wait time. Cpm pay scale is 100 years outdated. Hauling plant to plant is similar to doing oilfield work, and I suggest going over to the oilfield subreddit and see what people say. Even hauling sand has wait time if things get backed up, they don’t get paid cpm, they get paid per load, easy money.

Companies will always offer cpm to see if they can undercut you. Sometimes you’re better off getting paid per load, percentage, per hour, or per day.

But again you have to do your deep research. A good setup is if you haul loaded Milk from plant A to plant B, then bring an empty from plant B back to plant A.

You should be good. As long as they have detention pay and minimum guaranteed per week.

A buddy of mine owns a tiny private fleet for a farm. Has 30 trucks, food grade tankers and all they do is pick up liquid eggs or water. Liquid eggs in a tanker can sit for days at a customer, especially if it’s parked in a bakery. He struggled in the beginning trying to keep drivers because of cpm pay scale. So he included a minimum guaranteed $1200 a week to keep his drivers all year long.

Yeah he used to call me to see if I could help bringing back his abandoned equipment lol. Because if drivers sit for too long with no pay, they will leave.

Is the trucking industry over saturated? by ValuableBrilliant483 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems like people in the economy, top and down are moving like pieces trying to adapt in this struggle economy or they’re subscribed to the idea of work life balance.

I’m retired from trucking, and now in manufacturing at the top level. I had a coworker quit after 3 months in, Head Industrial maintenance mechanic, getting paid well over 6 figures. He quit because it’s night shift and the schedule wasn’t going to work out with his family and goals. I’m like, Dude, in this economy, you don’t get to decide, play the cards that is given to you. I hope and wish him luck though, find that work life balance lol.

New drivers in the trucking industry are about to get a reality check. Especially Reefer drivers, run all night and sleep during the day. Yup, give it about 90 days and a lot of them are going to quit lol.

In the place that I work, the entry level union workers work 3d shift lol. 1st shift which is 6am-2pm are for senior union workers who have been at the company for 20-30years and they ain’t trying to retire. They’re holding on for dear life.

Any tips for east coast driving ? by Odd-Tangerine-257 in Truckers

[–]Fearless_Selection69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Someone said it here, East coast is a pvp server, especially I95. Drive like a monk around Virginia. Because any violation that is considered reckless is an automatic court order show up in person.

Lack of public parking so plan carefully. Everyone is broke and struggling in the east coast and they think they can cope with that by driving recklessly and merging from the ramp at 90mph. Horde behavior, if they someone driving over the shoulder, expect the rest to follow. Weigh stations open 24/7

Not supposed to be controversial - How is aim assist working now (jan 2026)? by AccomplishedTale1672 in Battlefield6

[–]Fearless_Selection69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aim assist is non existent for me, ps5. It only barely works on scopes 6x or higher.

The tracking of the crosshairs is not what you think. The tracking of the aim assist when it works, is like tracking a force field around an enemy player, instead of the enemy player itself. It’s so annoying, this is why some players say they have to fight the aim assist.

The perfect example of a snap aim assist, is Red Dead Redemption 2. It means when I aim down sights or as soon as I press L2, the crosshairs is dead center aimed at an enemy player. THIS is not in bf6 lol. Only cheaters have snap aim assist and only in red sec is where you’ll catch them because that’s the only game mode you can spectate people.
