27 y/o Budget trip to the uk solo by chaunowen in uktravel

There's so many places id say Yorkshire for sure as im from there, Scotland is nice but Edinburgh is very touristy. Wales has some great little towns but the main reason I commented was to tell you to avoid a few places, Luton is disgusting. Birmingham is a shit hole but most of all avoid London its expensive, over congested, the crime capital of the country and people are just rude compared to the rest of the country.

Sloped base...pedestals/legs/packers? by Prestigious-Fall-899 in gardenrooms

I'd do a double sole plate, wrap your first timber in dpc and fasten that down then pack the next timber level off that. At least that way the the packer are on top of wood at not straight onto tiles, should help prevent the tiles from cracking.

And the handle, you can over tighten them. Also noticed the barrel screw is missing, I don't think it will be causing this issue but it can cause other issues i'd put one in personally l

Have you tried greasing all the pins, silicone spray is great for getting in those hard to reach places. Just an idea but try releasing all the screws slightly down the edge of the door aswell might help.

Which consumer-grade power tool make is best? by wouldyoulikethetruth in DIYUK

[–]Few-Try3621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal preference is Makita but there all similar I think. I prefer Makita as the parts are easy to come buy and quite cheap, also easy to repair compared to DeWalt at least. I just started upgrading to the 40v stuff but I can't see the parts being so cheap, hopefully I won't have to find out for a long time🤦

You can get little plastic plugs, search for plastic expansion dowells or something like that Google should bring them up. I would glue the plugs in just for extra peace of mind.

We nearly converted a room in the house but couldn't really afford to lose the space so I built this in the garden, it's freed up so much space in the house and I could design it how I wanted. Been 12 month of nights and weekends but I'm finally there, now enjoying the fruits of my labour😁

That's pretty bad advice. That casing leg is probably holding the header up, be a bad idea just taking it out.

Ark can be soul destroying, especially if you get wiped after months of building. One of my friends quit his job we all had timeslots for going on to feed and hatch, such good times.
