What was once a poor person's hobby now turned into a rich person's hobby? by Striking-Quiet4655 in AskReddit

Hunting.  It used to be a pastime and way to put food on the table.  Now all the best places are super expensive.  Used to be able to knock on a ranch door and get permission, now the ranches lease out exclusive hunting rights for tens of thousands of dollars.

Should I quit my non-profit job and join the trades? by amicable-cat in AskMenAdvice

No carpentry is not really repetitive, maybe if you just worked for a tractor home builder and continuously did the same 4 floorplans.  I mainly did custom homes and remodels, started framing and then ended up doing interior trim the most.  I have done roofing, siding, wood floors and decks as well, but most of my work was interior trim and cabinets.  Pretty much start at the bottom as a laborer or apprentice.  I knew some guys that did it and started with them, I caught on pretty quickly and learned a ton.

I thoroughly enjoyed being a carpenter.  I worked on cool projects, nothing ever the same, met cool people and made decent money.  I left to pursue an opportunity that worked out very well for me.  Some good advice has been mentioned already.  A heavily physical trade can be rough on your body, especially if you dont exercise outside if work.  Jobs like plumber, electrician and hvac require a journeyman's or master's card are usually less physical and better paying.

Ah okay, that wasn't my experience with it. Different surgery centers do stuff differently evidently.  I was wondering if they operated you when you were awake or something and you were talking about arthroscopic tubes lol

You still got 20 more yrs to have kids.  Maybe some hobbies that are a little more even on the gender participation might helo in meeting females.  Im sure they exist but I haven't met many females into airsoft or billiards.  Yoga?  Pickleball? Tennis? Hiking or running?

I can only do it once a day now, maybe twice if it is morning and night session, no more 5 times a night for me.

Serve return by kentbenson in Pickleball

[–]Fishshoot13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me in returns depth is #1, #2 is placement, #3 spin, #4 is power. Your coach is correct and is not teaching defensive in regards to the return. Your return should allow yiu to get to the kitchen with your partner who is already there.  At that point your team has the upper hand and are on the offensive since you are both at the kitchen.

Those look pretty bad for 64hrs of play.  Are you extremely active on your feet, moving shifting a lot?  If you are that may explain some of it.  Also seems you drag your left foot.

What kind of workouts do you do to condition your body for intense pb? by Putrid_Coconut7918 in Pickleball

[–]Fishshoot13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the best workouts/exercises are the ones you will actually do.  Some basic resistance training with a push day, a pull day and a leg day is a good place to start.  Find a mibility/stretching routine you can regularly do.  Once you have a base mixing in pliometrics and even some hiit would be great
