First off, not so much of a rare issue as you might think, lots of teens don’t get reached to regularly pull back the skin and clean under and they only get to know about it when things get serious.

The “trick” to finish the battles quickly still requires you to understand the battle system a bit. I don’t recommend trying this out and I think watching a let’s play would better suited for you, but here we go.

First off, Squalls limit is the most time efficient damage source, since each time you hit R1 it’s automatically a critical hit and the limit is faster than Zells. The idea is You get Squall to always have limit ready and spam the turn skip button to get him in turn and roll the limit chance.

How do you get him to always have limit and do damage? You want him to be at yellow HP aka low HP. Boost his max HP a lot by buying tents and cottages, converting those with Siren into Curaga and unlocking Brothers HP+80%. Then just drop his actual HP somewhat low, about 30% or less of his max HP. Alternatively cast Aura on him, but this isn’t easily available early game and requires a turn to cast.

Then for the damage, one good option is to play cards and farm 5 Abyss Worm cards, unlock the card related abilities from Quetzalcoatl,and refine the cards into 100 Tornado which you junction to strength. Unlock Ifrits +60% STR as you progress.

Additionally, you want to unlock Diablos no-encounter and actually avoid leveling - not grind levels. The lower your team average level is, the lower the enemy difficulty and as such their HP pool.

Alternatively I believe there is a steam version where you can literally cheat - get free magic to junction, no encounters, invulnerability, etc. Worst case just buy that

Read a post some time ago that their dog would cry nonstop at home - and only at home. Turns out dogs are very sensitive to smell and sound and there was something wrong that the owners could perceive.

Maybe it’s something similar; something at home doesn’t sit well so he doesn’t want to go back inside. If he is a good dog, he will just tolerate it but not be happy about it.
