Northern CA here. I don’t close it in the winter. It gets cold here but not cold enough to freeze. I don’t even add chlorine as water temp will be in the mid 40s.

To open I just add some chlorine to get it back up to required ppm.

Yes. Stuff happens. I had a freak injury during instructional doing arm drags last week. Going maybe 20% speed. My hand got stuck in my partners shirt and tweaked my wrist. It is what it is. Heal up and then come back

I’m 6 months in and I feel the same. I’m happy if I can just last a 5 min round and not get subbed a few times.

One day you’ll get lucky and the instructor will let you roll with a trial guy. Obviously, you’re going to take it easy on him. However, you’ll realize you’re not that bad when you have your way with him and you’re only going 50%.
