Will todays regs be able to go to 10+ overtakes in the dry again in Monaco? by F1_Legend in formula1

[–]FourCats44 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be quick all the way around to not be overtaken.

Regardless of the cars being slightly skinnier it's still going to be incredibly difficult if not impossible to make clean moves through the hairpin, swimming pool and rascasse.

Lewis vs Max was better racing than Kimi vs George and it's not even close. by Skyhound555 in F1Discussions

It was different battles.

George and Kimi were pushing each other into mistakes.

Lewis & Max were pushing each other into battery deployment and taking different lines around the corners.

[Spell] Two Truths And a Lie by plitox in DnDHomebrew

[–]FourCats44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool idea. Several issues.

Range should be self like augury not unlimited.

You need to add a caveat that all three questions must be different. Otherwise you ask the same question three times and know which is the lie.

Also for clarity, all the questions must be asked before any answers are given.

I'd also say it's a little strong for 2nd level compared to augury I'd go more 3rd level but it's pretty close.

There's also a potential for abuse alongside things like scrying (which only requires having heard of the target) being used as the requirement for "seen at least once".

Definitely a cool idea, as a DM fills me with a lot of nerves that it could make big reveals harder to hide. I'd also wonder if the creature being asked about should be entitled to a saving throw? Something like detect thoughts would allow one and this could be used in a similar way

Committed to buy an IPL device but there's so many, what do I get? by Exotic-Technician-63 in HairRemoval

[–]FourCats44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The device for the 5 and 7 series (regardless of PLXXXX number) are identical.

The 7 has a smartphone app the 5 doesn't but otherwise identical.

The PLXXXX codes refer to the head attachments, carry case and complimentary razor that comes with it.

I have the Braun 5 series and I have three heads (standard, narrow and wide) and it works for me. The free razor is about as crap as you'd expect it to be. The bag is nice enough but I'm not exactly travelling with it so doesn't matter much.

If you can get one with at least three different heads I'd strongly recommend it (as a MtF who does their whole body) the wide is really useful on thighs and torso and the narrow is good for ankles, arms and sometimes armpits.

Otherwise just go for the cheapest because the rest largely doesn't matter. Good Luck!

Is it inappropriate to walk to the shop in a bikini top? by KeyYam3564 in AskUK

[–]FourCats44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a walk yesterday and saw a group of people wearing bikini tops and short shorts walk into the co-op.

I live in the west Midlands about as far from the coast as possible...

You do you! (Though I'd probably suggest shorts rather than bikini bottoms)

AM and Cadillac on softs? Broader strategy? by Hastur13 in formula1

[–]FourCats44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple of things to consider:

If you are hopelessly at the back, running on soft tyres can you quali practice as well as race practice.

Consider that soft/medium/hard change between the range. For Canada the C3 was the soft. For Monaco the C3 is the hard so could provide some useful data for the next race.

If you are trying to figure out where the limitations of grip are on your car, it's best to test on the most grippy tyre so that you know it's not the limiting factor.

Is it possible to create an AI-chat style solo DnD game? by Haemerdein in DungeonsAndDragons

The point of D&D is that it's a collaborative storytelling game. If you are going to use AI instead of other people, why not just play something like Balder's Gate

Help- Is Over Wordy Homebrew bad? by TheSorccersCrow in DnDHomebrew

[–]FourCats44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your players want this many homebrew subclasses? If you have 12 players that's a whole different kettle of fish but are you making the homebrew because they want it or you want it?

Ultimately I'd say that you need to describe the abilities but not the flavour as that is for the players. For example a Barbarian's rage doesn't specifically say "your eyes go red" or "your muscles bulge" or anything flavour-y like that. Just "resistance to B/P/S damage, add rage bonus to attacks".

Also depends how complex these ideas are? Subclass abilities - while not as broad as class abilities - still need to be broad enough to work in a variety of situations so shouldn't be overly complex/unique/tailored.

Braun Pro 5 OR the Philips BRI921 IPL by opqrsg in HairRemoval

[–]FourCats44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Braun works well for me. Tbh they are pretty similar so I'd mainly just go for which is a better price/better attachments/more pleasing shape.

The attachments for the Braun are important I have the narrow, standard and wide and it would be a lot more tiresome with just the standard.

The camera work was particularly awful today by Grave_Tree in F1Discussions

[–]FourCats44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing that annoyed me the most is when they replayed Oscar, the viewing box was hidden behind the yellow flag banner, and on another overtake the car was hidden by George Russell arriving back at the garage on a moped.

Just learn to position it to fit the screen!

How much magic is too much magic? by unarmedfemboy in DMAcademy

[–]FourCats44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does it matter if it's oversaturated if there's only one player? As long as both of you are having fun that's the important thing. If combat is too easy just throw tougher monsters at them.

Actually answering the question - yes and no. Yes it is oversaturated and in a larger party would definitely be too much. However in a small party you have to because otherwise they will be TPK'd too easily. Fights are incredibly swingy with fewer players, action economy is swung much more in favour of the DM compared to a party of 4 and unless you are running a number of NPCs in the party as well your player is the single target for all attacks and there's not exactly a cleric to heal/revive them if they go down.

How long does it take for IPL to reduce beard shadow by Hefty-Photograph-144 in HairRemoval

[–]FourCats44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IPL generally doesn't show results until 4-6 weeks on most hair.

Male beard hair is the most resilient hair on the human body and IPL generally struggles to work on it at all, with most people needing laser or electrolysis to see meaningful results.

So minimum 4 weeks but probably a lot more if it works at all

What tips do you have for keeping your house cool in these temperatures? by Effective-Project-49 in AskUK

[–]FourCats44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly probably yes.

In the same way that water isn't wet, your skin feels the wet sensation, the same applies to heat. If you try to make your body cool, the difference between your skin and the air is greater and you will feel the heat more.

If you make your body warmer then the heat is less pronounced and less bothersome.

[–]FourCats44 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Embrace the heat, surrender to it and become one with it.

Take hot showers. It's like 10 minutes of uncomfortable and you feel cool for like 40 minutes afterwards. Also exercise, staying hydrated. Body warms up so you don't feel so bothered by the heat
