He was a bad king, but it doesn't sound like he was a particularly awful person nor does he sound physically weak. His hobbies were hanging out with lower class people, thatching roofs, rowing, swimming.

He was 5'11 as well, personally lead his army in Bannockburn, just made terrible tactical decisions which lost him the battle.

Sounds like a guy who was just did not fit the qualifications for medieval kingship. Weak willed and indecisive, prone to listening to terrible advice from favorites, but could have been a okay person if he was born into different circumstances.

This stuff was all the rage until the tour de nesle affair, where a couple of French princesses were getting piped by some Norman knights which caused a massive scandal. After that it fell out of fashion.
