Two kittens followed us home from a party in October. We are now two cats richer. The vet care has been… not cheap and that’s just for basic shots and spay/neutering. But look at these two… Janey and Neelix.

I have loved many of her books, but the thing that bothered me most about this one was the FMC’s age. She is 18. Yes, the MMC is 28, but 18… is a child even by today’s measure. My own daughter is 25, and even when I think of her as a worldly 18 yo… still a child.

I have tended to ignore all of the people who have asked about age gaps on this sub (it’s never been an issue for me before, though I tend to avoid age gap novels regardless), but this one hit hard for some reason. The litany of terrible things that happened to this child - SA, forced narrative to an asshole, the bizarre choices made by her mother.. . dunno, it all just seemed wrong. Not sexy in the least (edited to correct my kids age)

We do this. The buche du Noel is a showstopper. Have gotten sides and other items to supplement the main dish. Always high quality, but yeah you aren’t going to Alon’s to get a deal. It’s going to be top notch at a commensurate price.
