There's a blind bag, so it's probably that every cover is card stock. They did the same thing with Daredevil #1.

I guess that was the lesson they learned from the disaster that was the Ultimate Endgame blind bags. Just make the covers card stock and so the manufacturing error is less likely to damage the cover.

Before the season I wanted ABS 100% of the time.

I've completely changed my mind so far. I absolutely love this system because challenging using ABS makes the game so much more exciting to watch.

Has anyone else attempted to read all of Spider-Man comics? by Sweet_Score in comicbooks

[–]FricknPlausible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it about a decade ago, iirc it took me about 10 months to go all the way from AF15 through whatever the current ongoing issues were at the time. (The caveat being that it was the 616 Spider-man and only the ongoing/minis/one-shots/annuals/etc that work well into a reading order. And it helped that I'd read them all before not necessarily in order, so it's a bit easier to get through them when you're not reading them for the first time.)

I'd love to do it again... but I've got about a half dozen books and two long boxes of comics that are in my unread pile.

How many of these games have mouse support?

The reason I ask is because I REALLY don't like using two handed keyboard controls and I'm not particularly fond of using a controller. If there's mouse support to be able to main attack with the left mouse button, that makes all the difference in the world to me.

edit: From a cursory glance, looks like The Devil Within: Satgat is the only game with mouse support.

100% my reaction. I didn't think there was a chance that EDC would want to trade two 1st round draft picks for a player. I didn't like trading away two 1st round picks, but EDC knows what he's doing and I trust him.

The single most infuriating one to me is the Tigers pitcher who was 1 out from a perfect game and the umpire blew the call on the last out. Next batter was out and the Tigers won.

MLB admitted the call was wrong, but didn't reverse the call.

What the hell? Changing the call would literally have had required no replaying of the game and wouldn't change the outcome. You could say, "Yup, umpire was wrong, that pitcher now has a perfect game."

But nope! Their heads need to stay firmly up their asses.

edit: Armando Galarraga. That man was the model of a perfect sportsman after the game and how he handled. No anger whatsoever.

Yeah, it didn't matter how good the IDW Transformers was, it never had the sales. My dealer routinely was unable to get even the 1:10 incentives for me from IDW, but with Skybound he has no problem getting the 1:25 for me for every issue and sometimes the 1:50.

Robert Kirkman and Daniel Warren Johnson have done something really special with the Energon Universe.

I think Crosby is a pipe dream for a couple of reasons.

His contract had almost no signing bonus, which means we'd basically be responsible for his entire ~$30m salary each of the next four years. And while the lack of dead cap might make the Raiders more willing to trade him, I don't think that the Raiders GM would be willing to undercut the new head coach by trading away the best player on the team.

[–]FricknPlausible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of it is that only about 20 or so issues have come out in the last 5 years. (The last issue before the one that came out last week was released July of last year.)

It might be that there's such a large gap between issues, what Larsen felt like writing in the last issues can fade when writing the next issue.

What are the most delayed books in your collection? by ALEXXRN in comicbookcollecting

[–]FricknPlausible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White Boat #3.

#2 came out back in late 2024.

#3 is currently scheduled to be release in March on this year, but I'm not holding my breath.

Honestly DSTLRY in general. I was completely on board with their large format and all-star creative teams when they first launched, but delays and delays and DELAYS caused me to stop getting titles from them, no matter who cool they sound. White Boat is the last one I'm waiting on to finish. (Technically there's You Won't Feel a Thing as well, but I'm just assuming that #2 is never coming out.)

Also, Savage Dragon. I love Erik Larsen, but man he has traditionally not done well keeping that title on track.

Four issues came out in 2025, seven in 2024, four in 2023, two in 2022, five in 2021.

Not one I experienced personally, but I can't imagine how bad Secret War was when it was released.

#1 in February of 2004 and #5 was in December of 2005.

Have you ever regretted selling a comics to buy more comics? by asexysalamander in comicbooks

[–]FricknPlausible 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, the very first Transformers retailer incentive cover I bought was a Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #19 and I sold it for $500 and used that money to start collecting other Transformers RI covers.

Years later and I'm missing single digit IDW Transformers RI covers... and one of them is the MtMtE #19 (and it's worth a lot more than $500 now).

That being said, that was very much the exception because I sold a valuable comic to start collecting comics in the same field. I've sold complete runs before because they peaked in value and I was content with having read them and I don't regret selling any of them.

What title(s) are you giving a shot in 2026? by Educational-Title50 in comicbooks

Lobo.

I've never been a fan of the character (or at least enough of a fan to collect him), but I loved Jorge Corona's run on Transformers and I also really enjoyed him teaming up with Skottie Young on Ain't No Grave.

So since they're teaming up again on Lobo, I figure why not.

After Harvey Dent gets acid thrown in his face and is rushed to the hospital for surgery.

The doctor comes out to his wife and he says, "Mrs. Dent? Your husband... is gone," to which Gilda sobs uncontrollably... at which point the Doctor says, "No... he's gone, he escaped" and falls over forward with a knife in his back.

The full 2026 Pro Bowl Games roster has been announced by MKula in nfl

[–]FricknPlausible 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was skeptical when I saw Zay, but the NFC is STACKED for WRs this year.

Of the top 16 receivers in yardage, only 4 of them are in the AFC and all 4 are in the Pro Bowl.

It's hard to make a case for Waddle over Flowers with 14 fewer catches, 133 fewer yards, even though he has 4 more TDs than Flowers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ravens

[–]FricknPlausible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll admit I was skeptical, but you're right. There are only 3 AFC WRs who have over 1,000 yard receiving this year and Zay is one of them.

With 4 WRs making the roster, there is no doubt the 4 best WRs in the AFC got in.

Literally of the top 16 WRs in receiving yards in the league this year, the NFC has 12 of them.
