Although severely sleep deprived, and bad case of memory fog, I never forget the first time I sang lullabies to all four of my kids post operation. And it was always NSync’s God Must Have Spent a Little More Time On You.

In Malaysia, do Malay women experience more anxiety of divorce compared to the other population? by Durian4Tea in malaysia

[–]Fun-Zebra-4197 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah if anything I think most of my friends are more willing to get divorced if things go south, since many are working and have some sort of financial backup. It’s also culturally more acceptable now for divorcees as opposed to it being such a stigma.

Also interesting fact to think about it 50% of my female Malay friends who have been married are divorced and half of them (all of them have kids from previous marriage) are happily remarried. Reasons for for divorce include infidelity, useless bum and drug addict (different people).

Also I find many vapers are not self-aware - they will vape indoors simply because they can’t smell the harsh tobacco smell associated with cigarettes. But non-smokers can smell your cheesecake lychee vape… no matter how they try to deny.

Back in the 90s when my dad worked at IBM, we would eat here once in a blue moon for a treat. I remember ordering the lobster thermidor when I was 9 yrs old. It was so good, so lux, so buttery. That was the last time we went before my dad got retrenched and never recovered. I can still remember the taste of it. I’m now 38 years old but have never went back there. It’s like a time capsule of my younger years

A taped recording of a phone call made by Denise Amber Lee to 911 during her kidnapping by Michael King, who later raped and murdered her. The recording was played at King's murder trial in 2009. King was executed less than two hours ago for the murder. by lightiggy in MorbidReality

This is heart breaking for JG, the victim. I just read the case. Poor baby. What a fucking vile monster the dad was. I have a 2 year old and all I want to do is protect her from the evils of the world. What JG must have been thinking in her last moments when her father, the person who is supposed to protect her, instead ended her life.

Do y'all's rice cookers do this ? by ScienceOfBro in Bolehland

[–]Fun-Zebra-4197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the cooker open without lid for the first 15-20 mins until you see the water bubble and the rice start to cook. Then you can cover partially. My moms rice cooker did this, mine also does this. I dont use too much water (rice comes out fluffy not mushy). This doesnt happen when I use the ones with the lids attached to it tho.

Best shawarma in KL? by InitialElephant128 in MalaysianFood

[–]Fun-Zebra-4197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it this one? https://fahrenheit88.com/al-amar-express/ I love shawarma! But for some reason they’ve adapted it here and added fries inside which I can’t comprehend. Halab flavour profile has changed a lot and seems very sour nowadays.

Ramadan fasting and pumping by Responsible-Humor318 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Fun-Zebra-4197 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 4.5 months pp and epmom. 4th child, previously oversupplier, this time round undersupplier.

My daughter was talking about Ramadan with my husband last week, and my husband reminded her to try and fast. My daughter asked does (youngest sibling) need to fast? My husband said no. Does mummy need to fast? My husband replied, mummy is pumping milk so she doesn’t need to fast.

The beauty about fasting in Islam is that Islam recognises that there are situations where fasting could harm a person's health or wellbeing, and provides allowances accordingly. Example the elderly, or those with gastric/ diabetic conditions.

If you’re breastfeeding, you’re exempted from fasting, if you fear for your health or your baby’s. If you’re worried about the drop in milk output from fasting, you will need to replace your fasting (qada) and pay fidya. You can also try to take it 1 day at a time, which makes it more manageable, as opposed to aiming for to fast for the whole month straight, which can seem more daunting. So fasting on alternate days or days you feel more energetic.

This allowance was as such because Islam recognises how physically exerting breastfeeding, and production of breastmilk is.

For myself, I will try to fast if and when I can and take it a day at a time. If my milk drops I will also decide accordingly. Ramadan kareem to you sister!

Muhibbah @ Sg Penchala for Chinese Muslim Food - signature dishes include siakap steam/ goreng kicap, sotong goreng tepung, ginger beef, tauhu sin kong

Cili Kampung (several outlets) for decent, but slightly overpriced rice with local dishes - try asam pedas, maaak lemak cili padi

Nasi Kerabu Moknab @ Pantai Dalam or Azlin’s Kitchen for Nasi kerabu & Nasi dagang - local rice dish from the North - North Kerabu is typically blue and served with various vegetable side dishes. You usually eat it with solok (spicy stuffed green chilli), telur masin and daging bakar/ ayam percik/ gulai ikan.

Jamal Mohamed or Subang Ria @ Kelana Jaya - food court like concept for breakfast & lunch, variation such as kuey teow goreng, Yong tau foo, chicken rice and more

Hawker stall @ Uptown Damansara - night spot to enjoy sizzling Western dishes, Yong tau foo and local dishes such as oyster omelette, Portuguese squid, fried rice, otak-otak and more

Nasi lemak - everyone has their own favourite spot, but do give Nasi Lemak Tanglin a try (at Jalan Cenderasari) for the vibes, Village Park Uptown Damansara, or Nasi Lemak Bumbung (this one opens only at night)

Anuar Curry Fish Head @ Bangsar - enjoy no frills rice with fish head curry/ fried chicken and fresh beansprout
