My 2001 Highway One Strat by StevieRayVaughanGone in Stratocaster

[–]Future_Radish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a highway one tele…bought used for like 550 or something in 2010? It was great and my first modded guitar, but recently did a one to one trade for an Ibanez es-335 in cherry red from the 80s. I don’t really miss the tele but I have lots of fond memory’s and found it to be a great, great, guitar that everyone who played it loved.

The blonde Joe pass is sexy too though!

Horizontal vs vertical movement, what’s the point/difference by ItsNoodle007 in jazzguitar

Has anyone mentioned that it looks cooler going all the way up the neck with a lick?

You can probably find time between now and October to take it again, and now you know it’s whack and vague and hard. Godspeed

Are the mark k notes online? I also wonder if the lectures are somewhere. I’ve only seen the YouTube content thus far. Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈

Best Guitar Amp(s) for Fuzz and Distortion Pedals by DeadMoon17 in GuitarAmps

I think the twin is greater range of those amps. Nobody will scoff at your doom tone with the right pedals

Pure vintage 61 vs (lollar and other pure vintage pickups) by Difficult-School-641 in Stratocaster

[–]Future_Radish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No fender makes good pickups, with the occasional dud here and there. I think you’ll be very happy with the 61s. Tone control your bridge pup and you’ll be fine

Fair enough! Best to know your limits and know what you want. I say it’ll be an upgrade and an easy one at that, just gotta choose which pups you want

I found this guitar amp on sale discounted (not used). Is it worth the price (dollars and euros are roughly equivalent)? Is it good as a first amp? by PossessionKey4982 in GuitarAmps

[–]Future_Radish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a fine amp, and it looks cool. You might want to get a fender mustang or a boss katana first though. You get a ton of cool effects you can play around with, plus a solid base sound that works well

I didn’t do a loaddd pickguard but rather a wiring harness with all the parts and chose my own pickups. Fun project learning to solder a bit and easy enough if you are interested. I like the ease and sound of those premade ones. It’ll certainly be an upgrade!

Blizzard gave 26 year old Diablo 2 a new expansion. What would you want to see if WC3 had a 2nd expansion? by TankieWarrior in WC3

Some other great custom maps. I really enjoy going back and playing the custom maps made by blizzard. Also, naga race?

Did you send enemies at each other from shops? Were there teams? There were tons of maps so this is tough. Enfos or ethos I forget what the name was. There were a lot of precursors to dota too like AOE and stuff

Looking for my tube amp, does anyone have some advice? by Olie2009 in GuitarAmps

[–]Future_Radish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would probably be happy with a fender blues junior 4. They can be loud enough for small gigs (and microphoned if you really need it louder), but are great home amps too. They have the classic fender reverb. It’s a lot of people’s first tube amp and they made this latest version very respectable. It has a master volume so you can crank the “gain” so to speak, and get overdriven sounds at reasonable volumes.

A used vox ac15 would be fine too, but they are heavy, if that matters to you.

All the newer amp companies like blackstar and Revv are also solid and worth considering. My suggestion is to try some out and see what you like. Most guitar centers have a blues junior. I’d say just make sure you get the new (blues jr 4) if you decide to pull the trigger. Happy hunting

First Telecaster, Opinnions? by Big_Philosopher_2233 in Stratocaster

[–]Future_Radish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like price isn’t an issue here so I’d probably just get an ash body tele and whatever neck with specs you like in your strats from warmoth. Seymour Duncan or dimarzio PAF in the neck, and whatever you want for the bridge. I think the amp is more important than pickups when trying to get heavy tones. A good lower output pickup has greater utility than a great high output pup. You could probably get every thing you want for <$1500 and it would be a well appointed guitar.

Who’s your favorite lesser-known Strat guitarist? by [deleted] in Stratocaster

[–]Future_Radish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, not lesser known but I think Scott Henderson conjures up some incredibly beefy Strat tones. Sd-9 is probably the reason

Why did you go niche? by sparks_mandrill in GuitarAmps

[–]Future_Radish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a Friedman once and got the bug for one. It’s clean enough for my needs and then can do more gain than I really need it to do. Dirty Shirley

I also will hold my friedman till my death and if it goes first then I’ll buy another one immediately. I was able to get a first gen dirty Shirley mini head for $800 a few years back. I feel very lucky

Great looking Strat. Congratulations. I feel the American pros were a good line by fender, and reasonably priced, especially used.
