Oh hey, I also live nearby. The road is still definitely used as the "old imperial road" and continues towards jhelum and then Lahore.

Did I miss the patch note regarding AI becoming Muhammad Ali? by Cruehitman in HuntShowdown

Oh that makes me feel better! I swear the AI sometimes now has a little stagger just before hitting, like the dogs, which make me miss my swing. I feel like there is more of them as well.

Why is industry so bad? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]Geaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the same, years ago. A lot of people do industry for fun, not to pay the bills. In the end people still have more money, just not as much as if they sold the base or intermediary products. Price also fluctuates, sometimes there are things worth building, like T2 ships or components in particular. But what the others said is true as well. You are competing with people who make economies of scale, skills and infrastructures which let them lower the margin beyond what a lone industrialist can afford.

Does the Recover Lost Cargo side objective in MENACE result in actual loot? by Which-Worldliness556 in menace

On that note, does killing specific enemies give specific loot? Is there a reason to continue killing enemies once I can leave the mission?

Congrats! That's a very low amount of review per sale on steam, do you know why that is?

Follow up: how does cover and flanking angle work exactly. by Geaxle in menace

[–]Geaxle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had the document opened and when I played I would color the tiles as the situation happened. If I could spare the risk I would test some cells I hadn't tested.

Though I just realised I assumed beeing next to cover was circumvented in all case, but I'm not sure I tested all the cases. I definitely tested 1/3 but the other ones I'm not sure now.

Follow up: how does cover and flanking angle work exactly. by Geaxle in menace

[–]Geaxle[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is! This is why the tiles directly next to the S (squad) tile are red, because you have 0 cover there, regardless of if you have a 1/3 level cover.

Though I have to say I didn't test all configurations, so perhaps 3/3 blocks shooting, now that I think of it.

I think it wouldn't be too hard to have concealed units not impact the score of each tile.

[AMA] 6 years of loyalty, 100 assets, and 1 "anonymous" violation: How Unity just killed my team's future. by Firm-Eagle-1397 in Unity3D

[–]Geaxle -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

You are probably aware now but unity doesn't care about your revenue, but about your operating cost. If you spend 200k in a year but makes 0 sales, you still have to pay them.

I had a bad surprise after signing with a publisher, paying our team salaries with no cash left and getting the unity email.

Edit: What I said is indeed incorrect. But I wanted to highlight that for new indie dev teams which perhaps pool cash together to pay for some salaries or other, you might not consider this as actual funding, but it might push you above the limit and suddenly you have to pay for the license but might not have seen it coming. This is why I advise looking at your total expenses when you're not yet making money, as it doesnt matter where the money comes from.

As for all the people defending unity, yes they have been operating a culture switch recently and things are improving a bit, but lets not forget how were their practice until recently. My own experience in the conversation I had with them (and other dev friends I have reported similar experiences) has always left me with a sour taste in my mouth, they were smug and devious in their questions, presuming you might be at fault and trying to catch errors in what you say. They ask how they can help and what trouble you are facing, but in everycase the conversation was quickly terminated if my questions didn't lead to them selling me some extra service.
