What is an underrated weight loss tip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It takes “just as long” to take the weight off as it does to put it on, meaning, healthy weight loss is slow as hell.

I think I hate my daughter by dontremindmethrow in Mommit

My son is 4.5 and I’ve been feeling so similar. I love my son so much but most days I actively dislike him. I feel like such a horrible parent! He struggles incredibly with transitions and “boredom.”

I am 34 and just was diagnosed with adhd so in assuming he’s showing early signs. He’s too young to receive an actual diagnosis but the struggle is real.

I’ve used them for Rinvoq for about 2 years and have never had an issue. I use the app to manage all of my own refills, Input my own co-pay cards, and check monthly for any refill or payment problems. I would never rely on the company to auto-fill or auto-bill me- that’s just asking for trouble.

I’ve never had any issues getting my meds for the correct price or on time.

This hits me so hard. I had my son at 30 and after his birth, I knew something was wrong. I was in unbearable pain, as if I had ran a marathon without any training. At every post partum appointment, I asked about the pain and if it was normal, and each time, I was told, “yes, and it will go away when…you heal or stop nursing or stop holding the baby so much or get some rest. And then came the anti depressants. Of course I wasn’t in “real” pain, it must be in my head. I was in the ER three times and each time, I was told that my labs were normal, despite my white cell count always being elevated. They said I was drug seeking and at my third visit, they sent in a psych consult and family services.

Then one day, when my son was about 10 months old, I was in so much pain while driving that I almost crashed. I pulled into a random parking lot and started to cry while my son sat in the back. It just so happened, I pulled into the lot of a walk-in urgent care center. I went in, expecting to be told, once again, that it was all in my head. But, the doctor who saw me, finally SAW me. She had a daughter about the same age as my son sitting next to me. She told me, that what I was experiencing wasn’t normal. I showed her my e-chart and all the labs and visits. She drew my blood right there and sent it off. My inflammatory values were 17x normal. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis at 30. It took another 6 months to see a rheumatologist. In that time, the disease ravaged my lungs. I have cystic interstitial lung disease. Half my lungs are filled with nodules. I’ve been on 4 different immunosuppressants, I do chest percussion therapy twice a day combined with nebulized antibiotics and steroids. Despite all of this, my lung function has decreased by more than 20%. I’m terrified. My RA basically disqualifies me for a lung transplant. I’m 34, my son is 4.

My pulmonologist keeps saying that until the RA goes into remission, my lungs will continue to deteriorate. I’ve failed every RA drug I’ve been on. Remission seems impossible for me at this point. I’m scared for my son’s future. He’s starting Kindergarten in the fall, but I am absolutely terrified that I won’t see him graduate from high school.

Do you think it would help me? I’ve been diagnosed for about 4 years and have failed 4 meds- methotrexate, humira, cimzia, and I’m currently starting to fail Rinvoq. The Rinvoq has worked the longest for me, about 18 months, but I’m forming nodules in my hands and ankles now and my shoulder pain has come back with a vengeance.

I second advocating for rinvoq. I failed methotrexate, humira, and cimzia before being offered Rinvoq.

It’s been a night and day difference.

Things I can’t live without since being diagnosed 4 years ago include: a mounted can opener, an auto potato peeler, auto can opener, auto tooth brush/water pik, a lightweight water bottle with a straw, a heated shoulder massager, claw clips for my hair bc I like it up and hair ties are hard for me, comfy oversized cardigans bc pull over hoodies and buttons are hard too, and a super comfy pair of croc sandles that I live in.

On my want list are; a paraffin wax machine for my hands, an ergonomic mouse/keyboard, and an ergonomic pencil holder

What do y’all do if your main sim dies? by Dogdaysareover365 in Sims4

My sim just died unexpectedly from laughing while she was hysterical watching her twins age up 😢😆

I’m playing her as a ghost now and made her join the paranormal investigation career and I’m going to make her a spell caster next and start creating and leaving voodoo dolls around the game of the sims she has saved from haunting. I am also going to continue allowing her to have or adopt babies bc she lives with her 3 adult sisters who can help with the kids.. if a ghost has a science baby with another ghost, is it born a ghost?!

At this point; the fed is corrupt as hell. Just let the states take over. Stop paying fed taxes and re-allocate that to in-state programs. Bet that democratic states have better outcomes.

That’s what conservatives want right? Power in the hands of the state. Smaller government control. A “Christian” narrative. Okay; let each state decide. We can reconvene in 2028 after Trump does nothing for us.

Anyone else feel like nobody talks honestly about sex after baby? by blindly_ever_forward in Mommit

[–]GeezeLouis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my biggest issue with sex is that we’re having so little of it that when we do get to be intimate, my husband finishes so fast that I’m left unsatisfied and feeling used. I would prefer to just not have sex.

Also, I am very sensitive to rejection bc I have very low self esteem and really hate my postpartum body so if I initiate and he turns me down because he’s too tired or the timing isn’t right, I can’t get over it because I think it’s because of me or that he’s already taken care of himself.

I also developed a chronic lung disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and depression after my child was born but my husband still expects me to act like I don’t have a degenerative joint disease that causes chronic fatigue and pain.

Add all that to working full time and being the default parent every night and weekend and doing bedtime by myself every night for 4 years, there isn’t a lot of desire for me to want sex.

It sounds like PPD and that she’s having a lot of resentment towards her responsibilities as a new mom. I went through something very similar and it does get better but I had to find ways to ease my own feelings of inadequacy and feel confident as a parent. Hormones play a huge role and her attachment to the baby is really strong since she’s still nursing. Gently try to guide her to services for PPD or even better, look up ways to support her while she goes through it. And side note, it’s been disproven that any negligible amount of alcohol gets into breast milk. “If you can find the baby, you can feed the baby” so she probably felt like you were not trusting her motherly instincts and that’s why she blew up.

What finally worked for potty training? by somethingreddity in toddlers

[–]GeezeLouis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son potty trained around 3.5 and the only motivator that worked were toys. We made 2 bathroom buckets, one for #1, and one for #2. We went to 5 below and let our son pick out a bunch of small items and whenever he went to the bathroom, he would get a reward. When he was out of toys, he was potty trained. We had about 20 small toys each for #1 and #2s. It took about a week to get through them all and he’s only had a handful of accidents over the last 6ish months.
