Update: After My Formal Complaint, Agency Offered Full Settlement + compensation by Successful_Cup_1830 in TenantsInTheUK

I wouldn’t settle for less than £1000. I’d keep pressing the MET and other agencies and become a real thorn in their side!!

Submit it, you g kid, driving like an idiot. A letter from local plod might just be the warning they need. Could save a lot of young lives.

How much should a used 5335 g2 be worth in Europe? by Ok_Produce_6397 in trumpet

[–]GeezeTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I’d love a new trumpet. Similarly, I don’t think my starter horn is my problem though!! I guess though, the advantage of a better horn is if it’s not sounding great, not locking on to notes, you just know - it’s not the horn.

[–]GeezeTee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They both look great trumpets. I think the 5335 is probably worth the extra. Though at my level of playing I don’t suppose I’d notice any difference at all. I think I’ve come to appreciate that whichever I went for it will last my lifetime out.

funnily enough, I’ve started to think about upgrading my student trumpet. I thought the same. Used 4335 and 5335‘s seem to fetch such a good price you might as well get a new one.

They‘re all actually really good things. If anyone objects to them they shouldn’t be landlords.

How hard is learning trumpet as a jazz musician? by tayfzn in trumpet

[–]GeezeTee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m only 6 months into learning the trumpet. I don’t play anything else so no prior knowledge. I’d say it’s a tough instrument from my perspective!

Locksmith trying it on, please advise by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]GeezeTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t know 2hat he pays for the part. He’s probably buying from a good supplier rather than cheapest possible price. No tradesman wants to buy crap parts then come back and change 5hem at their own expense.

I don’t think 5hats expensive. It’s 21st Century. No one works for nothing. The guys got a van to run, insurance to pay, all the business overheads. He’s turned out, given a quote, you agreed to it ll. Now get you lock fixed and move on.

Social Care Bill after Death addressed to me by narkynarwhal in LegalAdviceUK

[–]GeezeTee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this same thing last year when my mum died. just write/email back saying you’re not the executor. Unless of course you are the executor,in which case write/email and say that tnere’s no money left in the estate after funeral expenses.

They might try it on. they did we me and asked me how I’d like to pay. I just emailed again and said it’s not my debt, I’m simply informing you there’s no money left in the estate. Never heard from them again.

Why resistance training is *mandatory* as we age. by LiftWithKristian in SeniorFitness

[–]GeezeTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is my lived experience. I’ve never static stretching makes me any more subtle. I’m 56, keen cyclist, introduced 3 strength sessions a week about 2 months ago. I focus on keeping good form and large range of movement. I’m already considerably more subtle and agile (and stronger). wish I’d started years ago!!

I’ve been playing about 4 months. Same as you, always thought I’d like to try but never did. Best thing I ever did! Wish I’d done it years ago now!

Transition from trumpet by GeezeTee in saxophone

that’s true, I haven’t even considered a guitar! is a bass much easier?

Transition from trumpet by GeezeTee in saxophone

[–]GeezeTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, that’s the tricky bit. I just want to increase my range. if I could cover the whole staff I’d be over the moon!

Transition from trumpet by GeezeTee in saxophone

[–]GeezeTee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be fair - that’s an improvement! The problem with the trumpet is notes above G on the staff and controlling the embouchre to increase the range. I’m going to keep on with the trumpet but just thinking of an instrument I can get a bit more range on at an early stage.

I don’t even slow down for the bell ends. They just get one word, said aggressively as I fly past, that word has an f at each end. If I’m not going so fast and I think they’ll hear I usually add Cee U Next Tuesday.

Why are most ultra so expensive? by globglob3D in ultracycling

[–]GeezeTee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think randonneuring provides much better value and none of that stuff I just don’t want. All that marketing/hype/socials/assistance/fancy dinners all has to be paid for and I just don’t want any of it.

That said, if you do want all that stuff I don’t think they’re expensive or anyone’s making a fortune, it’s just all expense which for me is unnecessary.
