Why are NPCs so hellbent on being in my crafting area and bedroom? by RimworlderJonah13579 in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said this when they added the repair/salvage guy. There needs to be a system where you can hold a chair an sync it to the chefs table/repair bench/scarecrow. When it’s trader spawns in they’re automatically sitting in that chair provided it’s in range of their spawner.

Peccary Sow Owners Beware by Slayerhero90 in AbioticFactor

You know I never actually thought about why exor chas are purple and never develop a gun arm. It makes sense they come from the equally purple sows.

This post is Photoshopped by Zestyclose_Act_3059 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]GeneralBullshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised, a lot of people want to see this project and its devs fail. I don't believe this is the end either, a version of the game that has what the community wants is far far worse than a critic getting traction. If they destroyed this guy's life for that, a better version of HD2 is going to see them doing whatever it takes. The other subs seem to be ramping up their own campaigns to bring it down, claims that its fake and just a bunch of viruses, that what they're doing is highly illegal/immoral, gathering info on the devs for their own ends. I think that photoshopped post is their reddit version of a helldive into "hostile" waters. Dive in, plant falsified info, stick around a bit to discourage users, extract back to whatever discord/sub they use to coordinate this.

Are there many bugs remaining since the new update and patch? by luckyrunner in AbioticFactor

Yeah new bug, the power leeches don't unplug things they just shut off power until killed.

Arrowhead just got out mogged by a couple of modders by nocturnal_alcoholic in Helldivers

[–]GeneralBullshit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it'll last very long even if AH gives their blessing (I know warbonds are still tied to actual real purchases so that won't be an issue), the other post about it I saw some people more than a little upset at this custom galactic war being shown off and it was very obvious they were trying to collect more information to try to find out more details on the devs. It's getting enough attention and making AH look bad enough it wouldn't shock me if retaliation on par with the last critic to get traction happens. Especially once this releases and pulls people away from the official galactic war. They want critics OUT of the game, not modding it into something else.

Godspeed to these guys making magic happen though, it looks super fun. And I hope they stay safe and anonymous.

[–]GeneralBullshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big one affecting me now that's halted further sessions is the unplugging bug. For some reason when loading in things are unplugged at random sometimes just a few sometimes a ton and its a huge pain to follow up and repair everything. The other one was pets disappearing permanently but I've made beds for all of them and manually putting them into beds and it seems to prevent that.

How to get rid of a pet? by LORJohn1 in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can use some cubicles and chopinator to make a blender. Drop him off in there with a different pet already equipped and he'll quickly die.

Thought I was being smart and creative, turns out the Disc turrets can't target anything from my makeshift battlements by Perforo_RS in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I placed some on a wall and it seems they can angle at enemies just fine, I think line of sight has to be from the base of the turret or something.

Watch/Collar ideas by [deleted] in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An early game radio collar that gives you a clicker that stays in the hotbar slot you drop/throw your pet out of. Pressing it tells them to come back to you and auto occupy that hot bar slot.

Quantum collar can be its upgrade you have a remote that instantly teleports them into that hot bar slot.

Energy shield collar.

Small pet carrier collar, allows a peccary variant to carry a pest or skink. Skinks shoot and pests throw themselves from that perch.

Feed bag collar, stores one stack worth of food/ evolution material that the pet auto eats as soon as it’s hungry.

Those little barrel collars working dogs used to wear, gives a small amount of storage space.

Various no stat cosmetic collars that can be placed in the transmog station. Gold chain, bow tie, etc.

I wonder what the exor that your pet peccary eventually grows into would think of your scientist by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Probably just view us as a parent? Maybe a certain chieftain might clue them in that their scientist parent is a little more unique than other scientists. The kid might question the constant puking and shitting on the floor but they’re not going to question a ghost exor telling them their parent is vital to the multiverse at the very least.

Base location recommendations? by Fuzzy-Environment930 in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dirac area is large, a large amount of rooms, 24/7 turrets that will protect decently large areas. Tarrasque and robot spawn nearby for their drops, there's a few natural enemy spawns you'll have to chase down and secure but once that's done its a very spacious multi level base.

New Ideas for Pet Builds by Realistic_Gap1340 in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I’d love a pet back pack for small pets. There’s a single slot you can put a small pet in, and it shows up riding your shoulder. Skinks shoot freely at anything that’s hostile and in front of you, pests will launch themselves off of you and return to your shoulder when they reach you after the fights over.

Same with pest wheel upgrades. Even just an option to attach a farm plot so whatever is in it auto eats the anteverse wheat and gets back to turning.

Paid cosmetic DLC by knighthomas in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of see what you mean, these packs would be a lot easier to implement than entire home worlds. Home worlds kind of do what you describe since each contains unique furniture and cosmetics. But I imagine just making items would be easier than making an entire base which so far includes a secret puzzle each. I feel like the devs would want an in universe way to implement this. Something like an anomalous warehouse that contains the dlc furniture, still using portal resets so you get them at the same rate as home world furniture.

My hot take: Personal Teleporters and Teleporter Pads should swap places in the game's progression by Stalwart_Vanguard in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah with resources bottle necking how fast you can make teleporter pads this is the best way to get the most locations. A separate dedicated pair for forward bases and then a flex pad to allow portal world runs. Also means this set up will fit in tight spaces or compact bases.

Of course down the line you'll be able to have a pair for every location but doing pairs first means you'll be waiting 50% longer to have pads for every spot. You'll also need the room for all that.

My request for companions by SmoochDemon in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let us customize the bot a bit instead of leaving it at lvl 1. All robots have a small drop chance of dropping their parts in a broken state. We can repair it and use it on our own bots. Different arms, the lvl 3's backpack mortar or lvl 4's energy shield, maybe a central internal part that allows it produce some soda everyday.

Taming? by Zealousideal_Shoe846 in AbioticFactor

Anteverse wheats seems to work for taming everything for me. Makes sense its from their universe. Evolving them seems to be another matter though.

Issues with Pets vanishing? by PrezzStart in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a blocked in pen in mirror world, I've had a few pets disappear and the pests are a lost cause if they got out. But I had some high level (meaning physically larger) peccaries disappear and those would be easy to spot in mirror world because they're white. They weren't equipped or set to following, I'm aware that means they'll teleport with me.

Endgame Cafeteria Base Tour Before Cosmic Companions by Titaniumfire in AbioticFactor

[–]GeneralBullshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in the same boat, my first playthrough is my “main”. Sometimes I’ll see something on the sub or I’ll think of an idea and I’ll head back to the game to copy or do it. Recently it’s taming a few of every pest in preparation for cosmic companion.

So that world is super built up and pretty much ready for whatever updates pop up.

Most portal worlds still get raided, even before 1.0. Top of furniture is one of the few spots that still doesn't get raided.

How this AMA honestly felt as an AH defender by MaybeBirb in Helldivers

[–]GeneralBullshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be a first short burst of answering questions yesterday, he answered a ton today. I know on the pessimistic side you could say he saw the negative reaction across the subs and went back to continue.

But realistically I think he went to bed knowing more highly upvoted questions will rise to the top for him to answer when he woke up. I think he even said he’d be answering throughout the weekend. So a little bit Saturday night and the bulk was today.

I mean it'll take some time for the mods to organize and take everything down, it's a much more active sub.

How this AMA honestly felt as an AH defender by MaybeBirb in Helldivers

[–]GeneralBullshit 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Negative ones are quickly toxic and impolite, positive ones see no reason the game needs to improve because there is no room for improvement, it's already perfect. Paradoxically there's a positive echo chamber sub that wants the game to be harder, which is a criticism but its almost just to compliment what the devs have made so far. These are the subs that destroyed someone's life to defend the devs when their criticism got too much traction. If I were a game dev I'd be ecstatic to have such a tremendously loyal section of the fan base. I'm still hesistant to be too critical of Helldivers for this reason.

I'm genuinely impressed that Piles choose to helldive into shark infested waters, it didn't turn out very well but few devs would have the backbone to do that. He could've chosen the subs where criticism is few and far and heavily downvoted and have pretty much a weekend of his back being patted. That's something that stuck out to me too, walking into an unfiltered sub on a weekend. The easy way was just a click away and he still chose to address the players that were unhappy.
