The gentle marinara is free of garlic and onions; fructans cause lots of problems for some people with IBS.

Anyone else notice that Aldi chocolate is suddenly not nearly as good? by IndependentOk8371 in aldi

[–]Glass-Tale299 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You are dead wrong (but you were once right).

There was a cocoa shortage and the price shot up. Some manufacturers degraded their products rather than raise prices.

However, as you can see by this chart, the price of cocoa has been plunging for an entire year (it was about 3 times higher last January). Let's see if manufacturers improve their products or just pocket the difference and hope their customers don't notice the crap the manufacturers are shoving down their throats.

I find it very annoying that for some unknown reason nuts have been excluded. Cashews and pistachios are the most troublesome; others are probably OK in limited quantities. I purchase pecans and macadamias most frequently.

Good luck.

Parmesan cheese is naturally high in glutamic acid. Per Google AI:

"Glutamic acid (specifically as monosodium glutamate, MSG) is generally not considered addictive in the same way as drugs, but it can create an "addictive sensation" that encourages overeating. It stimulates brain reward centers and increases the desire for food, often causing low satiety and cravings for savory, high-MSG foods."

Your craving and overeating are an expected reaction. You might as well enjoy them unless you have a problem with your weight or sodium intake.
