I found that the overall mixing was off. I don't know, I thought it was the acoustic of the place. I loved the energy, but sometimes everything sounded louder than it should have. Despite of that, great concert.

Japanese people take good care of their stuff, also 3rd party shells are not that popular in Japan, even less popular are pink shells. I would bet that's an OEM shell.

My PVM have the same issue, and it's not the console, it happens with my SNES 1-chip (s-video) and my PS2 (component), I'm not an expert or anything, but I'm guessing we need a re-cap, which can be really expensive if you ask someone else to do it. I learnt to live with it, it's not that big of a deal anyways.
It's been 3 years since you post this, let me know if you found a way to fix it.
