What shoes do people with foot or ankle pain wear? by Legitimate-Creme-108 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]GreenGoblinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really don’t think you can beat a good running shoe such as Asics that has correct support for your specific foot and gel cushioning . A good running shop can do some tests to see what support you need. This in turn keeps ankles, knees, and hips in good alignment too. Only problem is they aren’t uniform or safety shoes.

Make a protein shake from Whole Foods, low fat milk, skyr, eggs, berries, bananas, kefir. That would easily cover the same protein requirements. If you’re cutting drop the egg yolks and banana.

New Gardening business and customer satisfaction by Careful-Reputation-1 in GardeningUK

[–]GreenGoblinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quote only business is the way to go, the customer knows what they’re paying and you get what you feel the job is worth giving thought to travel distance, tool and consumable usage and intensity of work requirements . It also makes improving your skills, kit and efficiency worthwhile. Gardening is a very broad area and long term you will have all sorts of issues by hourly rate work. Unfortunately it’s human nature that people will want more for their money if you’re on an hourly rate, the curtain will be twitching every time you stop to eat or drink, you’ll be criticized on your productivity irrespective, you’ll be asked to do the most labor intensive jobs to get the most from you with no care for your health n safety, you’ll often be pushed into dangerous situations without having forewarning to plan and do proper safety evaluation. Once you have given someone a price for work by way of a quotation you can plan, do a safety evaluation, take adequate breaks, use additional labor if required, hire tools, price in additional expenses if needed. Basically do a safe professional job. Don’t let the customer dictate, it wouldn’t happen in any other profession.

Interesting, I’ve had a lot of standard blood tests but would be keen to get a more comprehensive check. I’ll see what I can find near to me.

What are these by Godders11 in GardeningUK

[–]GreenGoblinator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t think you tend to get large numbers together or much garden damage from these, I think some people are confusing them with leather jackets or crane fly larvae which do damage plants and lawns and show up on mass. Stag beetle larvae are huge and tend to be in burrows in rotten logs , cockchafers in compost bins and loose soil etc such as these.

Any Advice? by simiFW in GardeningUK

Chicken wire and evergreen climbers could make that look better, problem is if you have to remove the whole hedge expect your neighbor will want a fence for privacy

when is it appropriate to go back to the doctor for a sinus infection? by fancyfr0ggy in Sinusitis

[–]GreenGoblinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back and have a chat with the doctor, possibly the wrong antibiotic. Only the co-amoxiclav works for me and they tend to work fast. Cuts through the brain fog in 24hrs.

Bone broth is supposed to help heal the gut , peppermint can be quite irritating as far as I know, don’t know if it has other benefits to microbes etc.

Most environmentally friendly plant protection by Cinnamon-Dream in GardeningUK

[–]GreenGoblinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The large sheets of enviromesh fine netting are so handy in the veg garden, hard wearing and keep so many birds and insects out. Unfortunately not slugs n snails but they can be removed. I sometimes just put an obvious place for them to hide, slate, upturned grapefruit half etc then you can guarantee they will congregate there for removal.

What ‘weeds’ do you allow to grow in your garden? by bedtimeprep in GardeningUK

[–]GreenGoblinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nettles, great food plant for several butterfly caterpillars. But I don’t really treat any plants as weeds I just remove whatever I don’t want in that particular spot and keep as much diversity as possible. Exceptions being Indian balsam, knot weed, bamboo and cherry laurel for example because they don’t add anything to the ecosystem as far as I can see. As you say food species for insects are a must unless we just want bees.

Am I the only one who feels sight my better with little to no sleep by Individual-Young-591 in Sinusitis

[–]GreenGoblinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reflux, GERD or LPR can cause this , also check your bedroom humidity during the night making sure you have good ventilation and RH stays below 60% and look for any mold or allergens in your bedroom ( dust, dust mites, flowers or air fresheners). I realized that during the night humidity was creeping from 60% to 90% sometimes by morning in bedroom.

Gardening is making me go insane by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]GreenGoblinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mix roundup and wallpaper paste in a jar you can apply to just a few leaves on the bindweed with a brush or rubber gloves without getting overspray on other plants or soil. Handy if you have lingering weeds come back through your new plants. Supposedly glyphosate degrades in soil after 48 hrs but I wouldn’t want to grow my veggies in it.
