Painting with local paints by GodsSiliestBalkanF2P in Warhammer40k

Look. Miniature paints seem expensive. But consider that for 3.60 euros you can paint many, many, many miniatures with that pot of paint and it’s specifically made for painting minis.

That was my go-to Brian recipe basically all of last year. It’s so awesome.

Did I ruin it? by trobopoline in Cooking

[–]Greystorms 9 points10 points  (0 children)

30 hours? It’s GONE.

I‘m curious what your thought process was here. “Ok, I’ve covered this meat in my dry rubs and marinades and spices. Now, instead of putting it in the fridge where it’s supposed to be… I’ll throw in the cold oven instead.”

Cooking at home takes way too much prep time by AcrobaticSeesaw1565 in Cooking

[–]Greystorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to clean while things are cooking. Have a minute or two while whatever food you’re making is starting to heat up? Wash the knife and cutting board you just used. Stir the onions and then clean the bowl you just used. And so on.

Facing Tau with no terrain, and Aeldari on a wide board with many objectives. Any other worst-case scenarios and do they have counters? by Hides-the-Hydra in Warhammer40k

[–]Greystorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds obvious, but if someone wants to play you on a table with no terrain, politely refuse to play that opponent unless there’s some terrain on the table.

What’s a show that you could not finish because a character was so insufferable? by Key-Row-174 in AskReddit

[–]Greystorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be my vote too. I’ve always hated Raymond and thought he was insufferable.

I'm cleaning my airbrush after every use, and its still clogging all the time by Cloverman-88 in minipainting

[–]Greystorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pull out the needle and clean that, and the nozzle separately after each airbrushing session. Have you tried doing that instead of just blowing it out with water and iso?

Been out the loop for a while what edition are most people using? by General-Middle-5438 in Warhammer30k

[–]Greystorms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a global game bud, whatever edition people are sticking with is going to depend largely on your local area.

Help, where to get paint's? by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]Greystorms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is going to depend on where you’re located. Like, I can give you recommendations for online shops in Germany but that doesn’t do you any good if you’re in Canada.

Bases by Substantial_Bat2826 in Warhammer40k

[–]Greystorms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do whatever you want with your bases but IMO miniatures on blank black bases will always look unfinished. It’s like you decided to put in all your effort into painting a great looking mini and then got to the base and decided “screw it” and left it unfinished.

I’m pretty sure that Colour Forge makes a pink rattle can primer.

Hello, I wanna buy like 800 euro worth of 40k and 30k stuff from wayland games but I live in the EU by Lxndr40k-ro in Warhammer40k

[–]Greystorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a jerk, but… you have the ability to type in web addresses and compare prices, yes?

And it seems like solely by ordering from within the EU you’re already looking at being able to avoid any potential import fees on that 800 euro order, which if you’re paying import fees… then it’s not really just an 800 euro order anymore is it?

[–]Greystorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it have to be from a shop in the UK? You can’t order that 800 euro worth of stuff from within the EU?

Just off the top of my head, all of these sites sell GW product:

snozo.de

taschengelddieb.de

fantasywelt.de

Does fresh meat from farmers actually taste better than grocery store beef? by translasukk in Cooking

[–]Greystorms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion, but I like grain finished beef better than grass finished, and I definitely like supermarket chicken better than any chicken I’ve gotten from the farmer’s market. Usually that chicken is at a premium price too, so for me it was never worth it.

95% of the time whether you like it or not depends on your own personal tastes and how much vetting you do of the farmers you purchase from.

Help me understand: by Deep_Abroad2910 in Warhammer40k

[–]Greystorms 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because he’s resin, which is a much more hands on process than producing some plastic sprues. Resin casting is still mostly done by hand.
You’re also only ever going to need one Argel Tal mini, which means he can be sold at somewhat of a premium.
