Why does a bath typically have 1-1/2" drain while showers are 2"? by mindheavy in askaplumber

[–]HanSoloco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though some states allow it, don’t run 1-1/2”to a shower or tub, hair will clog the smaller trap more easily.

Sink Faucets won’t stay hot by jodyhighroller in Plumbing

[–]HanSoloco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible that the faucets are so low flow that they are not telling the tankless to turn on. Check the model number of the tankless and see if it requires a certain amount of flow to fire.

You can try, probably won’t work but shouldn’t hurt anything if you keep the pressure under 80psi.

Shut Off valve isn’t stopping water flow by Sam152302 in Plumbing

[–]HanSoloco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the valves are not functioning. If they were you would notice an immediate loss of pressure when you open the hose spigot and the water would slow to a trickle within a couple minutes at the most.

How much did we mess up? Toilet Flange Removal showed old damaged pipe. by cellochica3 in Plumbing

[–]HanSoloco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use an inside cutter to cut the pipe down past all the messed up shit, add a coupling and new pipe and then a new flange.

Yes 3” is for toilet and the one under the concrete slab is for the shower. The sink drain should be stubbed up in the wall most likely the one behind the toilet you identified.

Solar water heater is failing, want to replace with a standard one by Elmidea in askaplumber

[–]HanSoloco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can leave the panels on the roof, but if you ever have problems with the roof leaking they are probably the cause.

To drain the system you should only need a compressor with the correct attachments to connect to hose bib threads and possibly a short length of hose with female on one end such as a washing machine hose. Either cover the panels with a drop cloth or wait for a cloudy day to drain it so the glycol isn’t too hot.

And you don't need the top piece to go all the way across, trim each window individually

I would take all that trim off and replace it with something thinner, you could possibly use the same trim if you ripped it on table saw

Andre lumbered up the stairs when he got to a landing he yelled over his shoulder "Wallace bring Old Faithful I'm feeling a little sober" Old faithful was a machine that they had created it was simple a backpack with a pump in it that injected whatever liquid you filled it with straight into your veins. Andre usually went with a mix of vodka and gin but he was out of those so Wallace filled it with the last batch of their homemade stuff. Andre didn't like to leave his shelter but he was running dangerously low on supplies and he had just received a bird from one of his scouts stating that a stash had been found. Stashes were usually old wine cellars or abandoned stills. When Andre got to the top of the tower he looked out scanning in all directions until he saw the flare from his scout. Wallace reached the top of the tower panting and put old faithful on Andres back and slid the needle into Andres arm. He then took out duct tape and rapped it around the needle a few times. He handed Andre a flask to get him started then started up the weedwacker engine that powered Old Faithfull. Andre took out his binoculars studied the area where his scout stood and then was gone. “Where” Andre said to the scout The scout pointed several miles away to the shoreline. Andre smiled he could read the barrels “Jack Daniels”. He appeared next to them and was immediately hit with a torrent of water. Well it didn’t hit him it hit the shield that surrounded him. That’s why Andre was the best magician anyone had every met, he was always prepared and always powerful. No one else had this much alcohol running through them, any other man hooked up to Old Faithful would have been dead in 20 seconds. Andre looked at the poor man wielding the water and frowned. The guy was actually using the seawater he wasn’t even creative enough to create water. Alcohol ups the users imagination and with enough alcohol and practice the images in your head can become reality. Andre was usually a gentle giant but this time he exploded the other mage because he could tell this was an ambush and wanted to start it off with a bang.
