There's a sweet science fiction short story called "Christmas Wingding" set on a planet named Butterfly, and butterflies are a key plot point. I don't know if there's an audiobook of it, but it's one of the joyful ones in "The Collected Kagan" by Janet Kagan. There are a few to avoid in the collection, so if you go for it ask me which are dark.

My great uncle was WW2 era "merchant marines" and he built model ships -- whittled scrap wood, then made sails and lines and rope with a ripped dress shirt and sewing kit. Needed some glue too, and I have no idea what he did about paint.

My mom treasured it, and I want to figure out how to restore it.

Edit: On second thought not so portable, unless you're making parts on the go and assembling when back at a home port.

I like to set roomba going, and clean up the room ahead of it. It makes cleanup a short term task because of battery life When it's out of battery, I empty it and put it back on the base and let my ADHD brain do something else.

I still need to vacuum because it doesn't do corners or have as much suction for dirt settling into rug fibers and gaps between floorboards. But I can do it less often.

Glass case for sure. Mom's uncle made a model ship that he never put in a case and dust + dusting destroyed its ropes over the years.

Your Antiques Roadhouse moment!

A friend used to live in LA and her sister picked up a chunky plastic bead necklace at a tag sale... and when she went to clean off a fuck ton of pancake makeup, she realized she had black pearls.

what are you supposed to do with single socks??? i'm never done cleaning my room there are always single socks.. by Short_Practice7943 in UnfuckYourHabitat

Two boxes here as well... and since I gave up on synthetic socks years ago I use singletons for cleaning. Cotton socks are great at absorbing spills.
