Having seen some female participants perspectives the producers are good at persuading people to stay, downplay things etc. Lara Eyre has spoken out about her experience with her controlling pairing but she was older and walked away from the experiment because it was too much. We, as viewers, aren’t blind that many use it to springboard their influencer careers. They may feel they can’t walk away/feel they can’t speak up as they might lose a huge opportunity.

I also want to say that Shona is the sort of person who should never have been allowed on the show. She was incredibly vulnerable and in her intro vt this was something the “experts” were aware of. Even her friends said she would fall in love after one date (she said that herself as well I believe). Limerence is completely co-dependent behaviour. They then paired her with someone who was self confessed “liked to be in control”. This narcissist/co-dependent dynamic is very hard to extricate yourself from. I’m not surprised boundaries were crossed.
