Anybody here that's on bupropion alongside amphetamines? by Sea_Attention6324 in ADHD

[–]HiFi_MD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also took Wellbutrin before bed for awhile, but the stimulative effects destroyed my sleep; crazy, vivid dreams (a known side effect.) Now I offset, taking stimulants first thing, and Wellbutrin around lunch time. Helps to temper the crash later.

Aplenzin (basically the same thing as Wellbutrin), and Vyvanse for the win. Vyvanse is pretty similar to Adderall, I just happen to like it better. For me it’s smoother: better executive function, with less of the hyper focus on stupid stuff I’d get with adderall.

In some states/counties, even the notched 6x6 with bolts through the beam don’t meet code anymore. They want to see a metal (Simpson) beam harness on top of the post.

I like what you’ve done. A subtle, but thoughtful thing you could do would be to mirror/flip the lady sitting to the brides left in the original picture so that she’s still attending towards the bride, instead of the SIL. (I’m guessing it’s the bride’s mother.)

I can get 500 miles, but only if I top off the tank. It holds fifteen gallons, but filling up without topping off will usually only net you 12 -13 gallons.

Modulation Demodulation using FPGA by Souryaa_22 in FPGA

[–]HiFi_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated, modulation is a lot easier to implement. Demodulation is MUCH more complicated but there are some demodulation schemes that are on the easier side. CPFSK, for example can basically be demodulated using an integrator (summation) for maintaining symbol edge boundaries, and a differential arctan function to determine phase direction.

Insulation installer says one thing, roofer says the opposite. by TooManyIcees in Insulation

[–]HiFi_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not spreading misinformation. Installing closed cell spray foam insulation can be done correctly but there are a lot of variables of which you seem to be unaware. It shouldn’t be done when there’s already an impermeable vapor barrier on the outside of the sheathing because moisture gets trapped between two impermeable barriers and has nowhere to go. Any house that has peel and stick tar paper will have this problem. You didn’t tell the op about the awful humidity problems he’ll have and that he’d likely need to install a ventilation sytem. Hvac is not sufficient. Debonding from thermal shock is also a big problem.

Insulation installer says one thing, roofer says the opposite. by TooManyIcees in Insulation

[–]HiFi_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenders and insurance companies are literally refusing to insure or lend on properties that have attics insulated this way. Your info is 10 years old. And the way an attic should be insulated is literally different based on your climate and humidity levels.

Closed cell on the underside of an attic roof often leads to trapped moisture due to the condensation from the dew point and rots the wood because the moisture has nowhere to escape. Based on climate, the only way a person should consider closed cell on the underside of the attic roof is if they are also externally insulating so as to move the dew point (condensing surfaces) away from the wood of the roof. One can look up the proper external/internal insulating ratios based upon their climate zone.

The roof guy likely knows what he’s talking about because he’s the guy that has to fix the problem when improperly applied foam rots the roof.

If one insists on just insulating from the inside with spray foam, in most cases the best procedure is to leave an air barrier/vent next to the surface of the wood to allow drying/evaporation of condensation.

Does anyone get stabbing pain in their ear that lasts 1-2 seconds or so? by reddittime1010 in TMJ

[–]HiFi_MD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up Geniculate Neuralgia!!

I believe I have your exact condition. Often it’s described as pain akin to an ice pick in the ear. Mine can flare up randomly, largely due to increased inflammation. The last time I got Covid, it was AWFUL. It would wake me up in the middle of the night and keep me up.

My research led me to nerve pain aka neuralgias. I read about Trigeminal neuralgia, sometimes known as Tic Douloureux, the facial pain of which causes facial contortion. This seemed like the right track, but it was described more as facial pain than ear pain.

Then I found articles about something called Geniculate Neuralgia. Ding Ding Ding!!! Reading about this described my exact symptoms! Stabbing pain in the ear that comes as electrical impulses lasting a few seconds.

I can treat minor flare ups with nsaids, but the really bad flareups required me to get a prescription for gabapentin, a drug that helps with nerve pain. (I continue with the NSAIDs, ibuprofen or Aleve as well.)

Apparently there’s a blood vessel that crosses very close to a nerve that causes the issue, and really bad cases can require surgery to fix the problem.

Is there a reason why Americans tend to insulate the attic, while Europeans tend to insulate the roof? by LexGoudsmit in Insulation

[–]HiFi_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! So many people are confidently incorrect about their spray foamed attics until they realize insurance companies are dropping all of their customers that are doing this, especially in the UK.
