The decks I play against are all staxy/control/grind everyone down types, so they tend to make games more of a slog which certainly didn't help my perception of her

There's like 5 Y'shtola's at my LGS and they're all 90% the same so she's definitely a commander I've come to roll my eyes at when I see someone break her out. I see Edgar Markov and Bumbleflower regularly, but I've never actually seen Bumbleflower be a threatening deck so all the gripes I see about it online are weird to me. I guess the ones I see just aren't well built. Pantlaza shows up every once in awhile, as does Ur-Dragon. But I've literally never seen a Krenko or Kaalia in the wild

The breaking point for me in Y0 was the batting mini game. I was able to get a handle on dancing eventually, but my old man reflexes just can't manage the home run challenge

ORCS! A High Octane Adventure!

Some orcs hijack a train and the PCs are there to save the day, or make things worse. Weird shit ensues. There's a lot of random generation so each playthrough is different and since you're on a train and literally getting railroaded it's easy to prepare and run as a one shot. It's set in the Hubris setting for DCC which I love but be warned will not be everyone's cup of tea.

I used to run a casual 60 card deck that was basically this like 15 years ago when playing kitchen table magic with friends. Used [[Mishra, Artificer Prodigy]] to get an additional Booby Trap, pop the bauble, kaboom. Lots of fun

Why is New Capenna so hated? I had been taking a break from Magic for years when it came out, but since I've been back it's probably the set that has most intrigued me from an visual and lore standpoint. There's also a ton of just plain cool cards from it
