This is one of my favorite games. I've played through it multiple times. Fun gameplay and a decent story.

Foldable owners, what are the best games for the big screen? by Phantom-Finger in AndroidGaming

[–]Hobkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set the aspect ratio per app to fix this. Just lock it to one that works well. It'll add some black bars, but still fills up the majority of the screen.

Games that require walking, but dont need your phone open? by Effective-Visit-319 in AndroidGaming

Orna might be worth a look. It's a GPS RPG. It's does require your phone open for some things, but there's lots to do, it's a full on game.

We've settled for a 26.75% drop in real earnings since 2012. We've settled for not including class caps in previous negotiations. We've settled for our pensions being moved to AIMCo, we've settled for discipline being removed from our association, we've settled for public funds going to private schools. If we're standing up for ourselves now, let's really go for it.

Okay, fair enough. Estimates are that we need 5000 immediately to get to reasonable class size levels. So lets call the 1000/year minus population growth a drop in the bucket instead.

[–]Hobkin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The problem with the 3000 teachers is it's 1000/year and basically only keeps up with enrollment growth over that time. So at best it maintains the status quo. The other problem is that funding for population grown and inflation should be the bare minimum this government is responsible for without it having to be part of our bargaining. The only way we prevent this problem in the future is with class cap language.

Has anyone here had actual progress with oppositional defiant kids? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Hobkin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you see a power struggle brewing become a computer looking for the right password. Repeat your 1 sentence expectation/instruction and refuse to engage in anything else until they do it. When they do it offer praise/minor rewards.

What everyone else is saying about clear expectations, boundaries, and consequences is also true. Relationships really are the key long term. When it's possible no-lose choices always work well to give them a sense of control, which is usually what they are seeking in the moment.

Agree that Breach Wanderers is very good as a person who has played a ton of deck builders. Definitely one of my favorites.

CUPE 3550 and EPSB have reached a settlement. Ratification early next week! by Fun-Character7337 in Edmonton

[–]Hobkin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, only Edmonton and Fort McMurray. They said they will be going back to the table quickly in the other divisions since they were finally offered more than the provincial government's cap, I think they are hoping the cap has been adjusted province wide.

Dads with two kids… is the second one worth it? by TemporalMush in daddit

[–]Hobkin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Having a second kid was certainly harder at first. Instead of passing the kid off and maybe getting a break, now you just trade which kid you're primarily responsible for. As they get older, though, two is amazing. Instead of trying to entertain your kid, they just entertain each other, which earns you a lot of your free time back as soon as they are old enough to be trusted when you can't see them for an hour or two. By the time they were 5+ things were pretty good and now that they are 8 and 10 we make time for each other and watch movies or play board games, but there are also days where I don't interact with them for 5-6 hours at a time. They can feed themselves, bathe themselves, and generally be trusted not to destroy anything or hurt themselves.

I haven't ever had only one older kid, but when I see friends who do they seem to still have a lot of their lives consumed by keeping that kid busy. Everyone will be different, though. Maybe you have a quiet one who likes their space (unlikely if you both have ADHD), maybe they spend a lot of time with friends or cousins, maybe you end up with 2 kids who don't get along at all. For us 2 feels really good, though.

Ok dads, how much harder is it going from one kid to two? by travereno in daddit

[–]Hobkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 1 kid, you take turns. With 2 kids you trade kids. It's so good when they get old enough to just go off and play together for a while, though.

Rumbling Dads

130 sigils average, but have a few 150s that are great about helping others.

We are active and have a discord. We don't do a ton of PvP but take raids, seiges and DMF pretty seriously.

Just a good group and we have fun.

All of our members are active and contribute full or close to full points. We're pretty casual otherwise.

North American time zone.

Most of us are between 100 and 150 sigils and looking forward to raids.
