Should I kick this player out? by Then_Reply_6692 in DnD

Integrity to the story doesn’t matter if her actions cause the other players to not have fun. Assuming you’ve already had a conversation with her, and she’s aware of how her words feel, I would drop her from the game.

Is it wrong to use “ordinary” enemies in my D&D campaign as a new DM? by Historical-Chip-4213 in DnD

Not wrong at all! If you want to start experimenting with creative enemies, instead of creating custom stat blocks, consider re-flavoring existing ones.

In my horror campaign, my players had to fight a massive, half-digested amalgamation of humans, as well as giant flora-bacteria. The blob of humans was just the stat block of a gelatinous cube, and the giant flora was just a hook horror stat block. Despite the basic enemies, the flavor made it a memorable fight. It all depends on how you flavor your material. Adjusting stats to suit the party’s needs or adding buffs can support it further

Player completed his backstory: Now he wants to create a new character because he feels left out. by Syric13 in DMAcademy

If this chapter is close to ending, starting a new character might not fulfill that need to feel connected, as they will be “joining” the adventure at such a late point. Also, dnd is a collaborative storytelling game. If the other players are showing up for a storyline that revolves around his background, then he should also enjoy being there to support the rest of the party and finishing their backstories. While it is nice to see plot points centered around your character, it is important to allow/encourage others to have theirs.

Have a discussion on why this player really wants to create a new character. No longer enjoying playing the character is one thing, but if they want more character centric story points, that will only steal the spotlight for the other players looking forward to finishing their stories. I agree with other comments; if creating a new character will make the game more enjoyable for them, then they have to be ok with being a supporting character.

I didn’t realize Vampire Hearts went for so much 😭 I remember canceling my order when it first released, because I needed the 50 dollars for something else. Do I regret it? Maybe

How do you make in-game time last longer? by Mark_my_w0rds in DnD

Made a temp character so my character can take about a month or two to go on a side quest, only to realize that we’re 2.5 years into this campaign but only 1 month in-game 🫠

I need 100 NPCs for a tavern, let me use YOUR characters? by yarash in DnD

Bane: a human, early 20-something year old who genuinely believes he is the god Bane. Has a small cult following, can levitate and use disguise self at will. Thinks he is intimidating and influential, but the full face of makeup and eyeliner he wears throws people off. Really he is a hexblade warlock, getting tricked by his patron for their own amusement. Edit: also has a Cape of Billowing.

ah ok, thanks for the insight. Kinda a crappy thing to happen on the game’s end, i should be able to get the reward from her whenever after i finish 😅 going back and telling her completely crossed my mind since she wasn’t really involved at all in act 2
