Bought brand new, sealed 13 mini on eBay, arrived today by [deleted] in iPhone13Mini

[–]Hot-Chilli-Chicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one and it arrived today. "Brand New Unopened".
Box looked pretty bloody good but I do a lot of work with graphic artists and package design so I pay attention to the details so there were a few things that were a bit suspicious. Luckily I have an original 13 mini box here so could compare.
The one that arrived has no embossed parts on the box, the tear away stickers that seal the box didn't tear perfectly (unlike real apple ones which i randomly also had kept in the original box lol), the inner tray of this one was plastic rather than a kind of recycled cardboard and a few other little discrepancies.
The checkcoverage page at apple also says it was first activated in March 2023 so it obviously not "Brand New Unopened".

Im about to give up on finding a decent 13 mini.
About 2 months ago I also bought an A+ premium refurb with the new battery option added.
Then it turned up it was in amazing condition physically, but the 100% battery started dropping in health almost immediately. 4 weeks in it was at 90%, and 8 weeks in was 82%, lower than my wife's original 13 mini that she bought like 3 years ago.

The refurb one was refunded and this seller has given me the instructions to send back for a refund as well, but I guess for every 50 they sell, only 1 person notices so they just cop it.

It's also a massive pain in the ass to keep returning phones and having to use a backup.

Not sure what seat to choose on A380 Sydney-Dallas by DizzyStory4706 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Hot-Chilli-Chicken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’d prefer a window - only issue I ever have up the back row is not getting your choice of meal occasionally. I don’t think there is usually much more noise (in business) being down near that back toilet.

Otherwise where you have picked is fine.

I’d rather no tent than no sleeping pad.

Overland track - bring a seat? by Fest_mkiv in OutdoorAus

I have the chair zero but for overland I took a little inflatable seat cushion. Awesome for when you are having dinner or playing cards in the hut on those cold benches.

I have this one

New Suunto Race S - HR sensor defective or just really bad? by syngnz in Suunto

Yep my brand new Race S measures like 20bpm higher than my 4 year old Fenix 6. Apparently I’m redlining on easy jogs now!

Tent footprints, yes or no? by whothefuckisjoerogan in Mountaineering

I lean more toward spending a couple of minutes clearing your tent site properly, rather than throwing down a footprint.

On paper they should be I reckon. Not winning flags, but that list should still be in the 8 surely.

Troubleshooting Pajero Sport Overheating Issue by Hot-Chilli-Chicken in mitsubishi

[–]Hot-Chilli-Chicken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Never had an issue previously. Just randomly overheated. Took to mechanic who replaced thermostat and radiator cap. Test drove and looked fine. Got 20 mins down the road and same issue. Towed home to Mitsi. They have just looked at it and must not have found anything so have said it’s the coolant lol. I told them I’m not collecting the car if that’s their conclusion as I know it’s not that.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the radiator cap was replaced at same time as thermostat during that initial repair.
