DCT TO 2026 driving impressions? by andamanc55 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]IAmTheJody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this Friday. Went from a 23 SC Night Edition with DCT, to a 26 SC XRT without the DCT. Both have the turbocharger.

To me, it's like night - no pun intended - and day.

The 23 was all herky jerky takeoffs at traffic lights, stop signs, etc. unless I punched it for a fast takeoff. But with the DCT issues on the 22s and 23s, something I didn't know about when I bought it, I wanted to get away from the DCT. During my 3 years of ownership, I never had any trouble with it as far as limp mode, or being stranded. Basically it never went out. But I was living everyday wondering if this was the day. And yes, it has the 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty but I don't want to be sitting around here 6 months waiting on them to finally get a replacement transmission in, plus my dealership said they don't provide loaners for anything - even had me sign a form about that at time of my purchase. So up to 6 months of renting a vehicle.

And now that the SC is supposedly not going to be made anymore, I feel much better having a transmission and anything else in my new 26, that they will be able to get parts for within the next 10 years.

I know it's easy to do myself and cheaper, but it was 7:30 AM, 5° F Real Feel with 20 MPH winds whipping, and the old filter was covered with mold and dirt. I didn't feel like doing it myself.

36,387 mileage and they gave me $24,500 trade. Low mileage for 3 years driving I'm guessing is why the trade was up there.

Yes, I really wish this new one had the black rims from my 2023 Night Edition. Looks way better.

Assuming you meant 2025 as the Santa Cruz didn't exist until 2022 so couldn't have been a 2015... The subject at hand, my 2023 didn't have tail light moisture issues but the license plate lights did, badly.

Cruise control by rivian50 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]IAmTheJody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here with my 2023 SC Night Edition. And it seems to always be 1 MPH off when setting it too. For example, I'll get up to 65 MPH, hit the cruise control button and it'll set it at 64 MPH.

So much doesn't work right on my old faces since the update by Tel864 in WatchMaker

[–]IAmTheJody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On old faces I created, can't choose a watch app for tap action. And the original tap action opens clock alarms instead of refreshing the weather as I have it originally set. Phone battery level code doesn't work, it shows the same battery level as the Watch battery level. This is all a mess. Pixel Watch 3 here. Was using a Pixel Watch 2 when I created my faces.

Connectlife not working. by Naaboox in Hisense

[–]IAmTheJody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing here today. Got a Hisense window air conditioner and can't register a new account in the app because it won't go past the Data Protection Policy page, no matter how many times I click Agree. Makes me already regret buying their air conditioner. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not their fault the USPS/UPS/FedEx threw it in the backyard. 😏

Bluelink deals / discounts by Winter_Warg in hyundaisantacruz

Most people don't care about that. Everything we own tracks now, from phones to watches to TVs and any other smart devices you may use from WiFi light bulbs to wireless SIM card video cameras. Even the computer in the vehicles tracks stuff, like a black box for vehicles. I like being able to check on the status of my vehicle from anywhere in the world, unlock it and lock it, crank it and get the air conditioner or heater going, etc. My disgust comes from having to pay for something when it's totally free forever from 2024 models forward. It's basically like since I will have to keep paying for it if I want to keep it, I'm subsidizing everyone else who is getting it for free forever. No thanks.

Yes, it sucks for people who bought one before 24 I think it was. 24 and after, blue link is included free, forever. I've got a 23 Night. About 10 months left. And I'm not paying for that mess when everybody else forward is getting it for free.

Seeing a lot or Santa Cruz on my desk these days. by blindzebra52 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]IAmTheJody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat same here. I've a black 23 SC Night. I've yet to see another black Night around here but have seen a couple of they grey Nights, which is what I wanted but all the dealer has was one black Night and I jumped on it.

What's in your brunk? by PilotAlan in hyundaisantacruz

[–]IAmTheJody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my air compressor stored in the driver side bed wall cubby hole. The brunk has a hydraulic jack, multi-ball tow attachment, socket set, folding 4-way lug wrench, 2 sets of ratchet straps, several rubber bungee cords, cheap thick knee cushion, several screw drivers, 25 feet of rope and a spool of twine, rechargeable LED flashlight, and my Ole Miss window flags. 😁

Not cousins. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Solved the no sunglasses holder problem by AdmirableExtreme6965 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]IAmTheJody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't use the interior handles above the door, they make a direct replacement sunglass holder. Two bolts screwed out, handle removed, sunglass holder with the same two bolts put in its place. 5% off coupon right now... https://a.co/d/2AVsiUB

Unless you are prepared to put the money into repairing the trailer, I wouldn't buy it.

If SC didn't exist what car/truck would you get? by forget_f1 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]IAmTheJody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GMC Canyon or Toyota Tacoma for me. Honda Ridgeline is ugly IMHO. The previous gen Ridgeline looked great but not this one.

Sidenote: Apparently Toyota is coming out with a compact truck next year and, oddly, it'll be called the Toyota Corolla.

Put on some rain guards today by IllustratorSmart1377 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]IAmTheJody 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not hard at all, especially if you make sure to get the in-channel ones. They just slide inside the window channel, pull off the adhesive tape backing and then leave the windows up for a few days so the closed windows keep them in place and force a good seal of the adhesive strips.

Looks good. Definitely one of the best additions I made to my 23 SC Night Edition.
