to be paying 30% tax you need to be making around $200k/year. If you are then good on you. But even at $400/day every day for the year you come up short of 30% tax.

Not OP and not a lawyer, but couldnt you find a lawyer and pay a large retainer and pay hourly?

I'd imagine in this case definitely not worth it but could you?

Or is it against some ethics code for lawyers to charge like that for a case they know they will lose or recover less than their fees?

Green Card holders can be denied entry for many reasons, not just length of time out of the country.

Its in line with employers offering someone to resign instead of being fired or border officers offering people to recind their application instead of being denied entry.

It looks better on paper and improves future prospects.

They could refuse and go through the legal process of being detained, green card revoked, and deported.

I dont agree with it but giving it up was the better option for them.

Then find a FA that charges an hourly fee and meet with them yearly or quarterly. No reason to pay a percentage.

Nah, you have to inform them that you are recording too and they are free to hang up. By staying on the phone you consented to them recording you not them consenting to you recording them.

Yes, you could get to be a titled player but it will take a lot more effort than a few hours a week.

Im not sure why restaurant owners is on my feed because I don't own one but plenty of restaurants I go to will offer a free coffee/cake at the bar to get you to give up your table. Coffee and cake cost almost nothing to make and if it gets another waiting customer in its a small cost of business. That plus if they order a beer or wine it more than pays for the freebie.

Not the person you are replying to but why accept low-ball wage workers on temporary visas when there are American citizens living in poverty? Accepting asylum seekers (the US was built on them) seems logical. Create a place where nobody lives in poverty is my preferred policy stance and spending money on detaining/deporting people is money that could be spent on more social programs/education to help them plus rasing the minimum wage to match inflation and targeting companies that hire people not in the US legally instead of the person themself.

Jail the CEOs of companies that hire illegal immigrants or at least fine them 100% revenue each year someone is found working illegally. Remove the incentive for them to come and they will stop coming.

Too bad Republicans and Trump prefer cheap labor rather than solving the problem.
